The Flower Alley — Local services in Novi

I honestly do not know where to begin on how to explain my AMAZING experience with this family owned business.

When I emailed around for quotes on just one bouquet and one boutinerre, Kaila (flower alley) responded very fast and her message was so kind. Just her personality alone in that email, I felt so much better, less overwhelmed, and could not wait to meet her. I messaged her on a Saturday afternoon and she set up an appointment with me the Sunday morning after our message.

When we walked into the shop, we were greeted by Kaila's smile and warm welcome. She's very genuine and kind in what she does. She loves talking to everyone and overall an amazing person. The first meeting went great. She gave us a quote for exactly what we wanted then a second quote for our maybe items and a third quote for items we were curious about but knew we probably wouldn't choose. She never made us feel pressured to buy more than what was wanted. We ended up with my bridal bouquet, three boutineers, and three corsages.

She emailed the quotes over in less than 24 hours later and we immediately booked. I would have booked right then and there when I first met her too.

Other places we emailed would respond with, "Yes we can do those two items but we also require a $2000+ minimum for weddings" or did not respond at all. Kaila always responded quickly to all my (many) emails. Even when she was away for a week for a trip for something business related, she responded when she was waiting at the airport and apologized for the inconvenience of not responding sooner. I follow them on instagram (which everyone should because their stuff is BEAUTIFUL) and knew they were away so I was in no rush for a response but just the fact that Kaila did that, it really impressed me.

I loved going in to vist her. I live 45 minutes away from the shop and I am still planning on making trips to make more purchases (and of course to see Kaila, too).

She is such a hard worker. She is such a positive person. Finding vendors like her are rare. Sometimes you end up with people you know are good but communication might be stressful but this was never the case with this company. I always looked forward to talking and meeting with Kaila. Kaila and her assistant actually came to a place a half hour away from them to personally drop off my bouquet and the rest of the items to me and I wanted to cry because it made my day that much more special. Just the fact I was able to see Kaila on my wedding day made that day that much more amazing.

After reading all the wonderful reviews, I thought there's no way I'd be sorry working with these guys. Man was I wrong. The initial meeting with Kaila went smoothly... she seemed to understand what I wanted, and was willing to work with me to ensure everything would run smoothly. Great, I thought. She said she would get back with me at the end of the week with a plan and an estimate. awesome. so far so good. But that is where the good experience ended. I didn't hear from her for almost a MONTH! She did apologize and said she was very busy, which I totally understand, but I emailed her MULTIPLE times during this time, and then the hotel even had to reach out to her. Giving her the benefit of the doubt, I respond. with just a little bit over a month until my wedding, I didn't want to go shop for a new florist. I told her because I didn't hear from her for so long (and I was getting worried), I went ahead and made the boutonniere for my soon to be husband out of wooden flowers... AGAIN didn't hear from her for WEEKS! AGAIN had to contact the hotel and they had to track her down. She then proceeded to tell me that because I made my own boutonniere that she would no longer be able to do my wedding. She already filled the date. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! With less than a month until the wedding?!?! It wasn't a conversation like, "oh... well, you know, we prefer to do all the florals or none." WHICH I WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE WITH! How do you fill a date when you send me an estimate and then have ZERO communication?! According to the hotel, others were having a similar issue with this business. Save yourself the NIGHTMARE that this woman caused me. If there was an option to give zero stars, I would. Completely unprofessional. I would literally go with ANY other business. I came here to write them an outstanding review and I guess I shouldn't be surprised that almost every review, if not all (I didn't scroll all the way down), are outstanding.

I ABSOLUTELY AGREE with all of them.

My kids surprised me with flowers at work and they ordered them over the phone. Before I get to the flowers, let me just say my 20-year old daughter was so happy with the service. They took every opportunity to make sure they were giving her what she wanted and they took extra measures to make sure the flowers would get to me before I left work and stay fresh the whole time by wrapping the stems in water-soaked foam. I've never seen that done and it shows they care about their product. Now about the flowers: just looking at the bouquet leaves you breathless which seems to happen less and less recently when ordering flowers. Most places will send you flowers that are half alive at best. The bigger surprise came when I got home and put them in a vase. They were a million times more beautiful when taken out of their very pretty wrapping. But the BIGGEST surprise came next when almost a week and a half later they are just blooming bigger and bigger and are more beautiful now than the first day I received them. This is the first time ever in my life that I received flowers that are absolute gold. This flower shop really has their act together and it's obvious from their excellent product that customer satisfaction is first on their list. They are not close to me but I am absolutely ordering all my flowers from here from now on.
