Wow, I was pre qualified for a loan with Conn's. This is the short version of what happened... I wanted to go in for a while, I received a pre-approval letter, so I decided to check it out. I was going to start remodeling each room with Conn's. The salesman was professional, we found a nice sofa and loveseat and said we would think about it. Then the next day the salesman calls for an appointment for the following day and said he needed proof of income and ID for the loan. We meet the next day with all the paperwork he said he needed, we started the process for financing, then he said he needed my SS card I keep it on me so no problem. Then he wants a utility bill for proof of residency, I said I have a telephone/Internet bill which is in my name. He said can't use the PHONE/INTERNET as utility for the loan. What !!! I advised him my home is paid off so he said can't use that. He said he could not use Direct TV as a utility for proof! The electric and gas is in my domestic partner name. Can't use that either it's in her name, he said we could put her on the loan, I said no because I am approved well over for what I was looking to purchase. So the salesman said sorry for wasting your time, after an hour and a half we walked out with nothing............... So they say you learn something everyday?!!! I learned that the Telephone/Internet or Direct TV can not be used for a loan for proof of residency........WOW!!! Didn't see that coming... I DO NOT recommend Conn's for financing....... New customer-to-Not a customer anymore.... in a hour and a half!!!!!! That's customer service for you!!!! I gave 2 stars only because the salesman was professional.... I don't need a quarterback telling me what I should do!!!!
Wow wow wow I called the credit financing company as suggested..... They said all they are waiting on is a Telephone Internet bill etc.. for proof of residency and said to go to the store and give them copy of the Telephone Internet bill.... I asked her how am going to do that if they won't except it!!!!!? Then she HUNG UP on me. DID SHE NOT COMPREHEND that the store will not accept the telephone Internet bill as proof of residency It's a recorded line but they will not check it!!!!! Great customer...
Read moreI would never buy from Conn's again! On February 27th, Conn's delivered me a damaged dryer amongst other goods I purchased. The warehouse personnel knew that the dryer was damaged and encouraged the delivery driver to take it anyways. I refused to accept the dryer and the delivery driver called the warehouse to inform them. They told the driver to ask me if I would accept the dryer if they reimbursed me some money. Since the dryer appeared functional, I agreed to accept it only under the terms that they will refund $250 to my account. The person I made that agreement with told me that I would receive an email confirmation within minutes, that didn't happen. She also told me that the refund could take up to 3 weeks to reflect in bank account. It's been almost four weeks and still no money. I called on multiple occasions and all I received is the run arounds, being transferred from one department to the next, and no one seems to know what I'm talking about. I have given them ample time to make the situation right and they failed miserably. For that reason, I will never buy from them again and I would suggest you stay away and save yourself from a possible headache. There are plenty other companies with better service and good quality products to choose from. CONN'S IS NOT...
Read moreI initially did leave a review here, only a 3 star rating. Yesterday I received a phone call asking the reason for the low rating, but I declined to answer.
Even though my salesperson did a great job answering my questions and processing my purchase as well as possible, I only gave Conns 3 stars because I felt that their corporate systems caused my experience to not be as enjoyable as it should have been. Again my salesperson did a great job, but the company's poor system forced him wait on hold with a call center for a half hour to process a gift card that the store gave me as a Grand opening promo. That not only wasted my time, it wasted the salespersons time that he could have spent to serve another customer.
I should NEVER have to wait in call center phone queue while in a store, and a salesperson should not have waste a half hour of his time waiting on a call center. If a company cares about customer service at all they will have systems that allow sales people to process transactions quickly and easily without making customers wait while the salesperson sits and waits on a call...
