I visited this Best Buy in September 2023, during the week. I went in for a certain item. I noticed that the store didn't seem all that neat and organized. They had items in general areas. But it seemed like I had to hunt around more than in the past, in other stores. I found the area that I needed to be in, then started hunting to compare different items. It's like different brands and such get their own displays. Certain brands seem way more visible, with others kind of hidden away, harder to locate or see. I then had a sales person who swooped in for the kill and seemed to know less about the store than I did. And this was my first visit. I had to point things out and find my own item, since she seemed more like the unknowing customer. But she did find the item, when I pointed out the item that I decided to purchase. It was right there locked in the cabinet. So I could check out now. At that time there were two people who seemed desperate for help. I told her that I could just check out at the desk close by with other folks, or at the front of the store. I told her then she could help these people. But she said that they could wait, and checked me out herself. I can only assume there must be a commission involved. I was disgusted that I asked her to help folks who actually needed help, for her only to go against my wishes and check me out herself. Maybe she thought I was the criminal type and was going to run out the front door with the item. I will point out that it wasn't all that expensive either. Not inexpensive, but not expensive either. So I hope there is no commission involved and she just felt a need to do what she did. But I doubt it. I really don't know why I go to Best Buy anymore for purchases. It doesn't seem like the same store anymore. Maybe this Ocala store is just not up to standards. But other stores also seem way less appealing anymore. The bottom line is that I did a good job as an unpaid salesperson for Best Buy. The person getting paid, just handed me the item and punched the buttons on the computer to check me out. But I got what I went for. So mission accomplished. But I probably should start looking to other stores since I got the impression that Best Buy feels they have no competition. Read moreMy horrible bad luck. Lived in our home for like 16 years with a wall unit. It would only hold a 60-inch TV. They no longer make 60-inch TVs, now TVs are 55 or 65 inches. I decide to buy a Samsung TV from Best Buy. I thought the 85 inch was great. I got rid of wall units after 16 years. After a long day at work, there's nothing better than catching up on some TV. With the US Open and NFL starting this weekend, I was excited to finally have my new TV installed. Unfortunately, my excitement was short-lived as I discovered that the TV hadn't been delivered or installed. When I called the 1800 number for information, they were unable to help and transferred me to the store. They said I was not allowed to speak to someone at my local Best Buy. All their calls are answered overseas. They transferred me 8 or 10 times to different people. They all said they did not know why the order was canceled. I was on the phone for over 2 hours. I had to leave work and drive to the store since there is no way to call the store. I was informed that my order had been cancelled by the computer for no apparent reason. Luckily, the staff was friendly and they were able to send someone out to install the TV on the same day. While there, my wife was sold my wife a $1,700 sound bar, which we decided to purchase and have installed a few days later. Unfortunately, during the installation of sound bar they dropped the TV and broken. They did not offer to bring temporary tv or one of their open box tvs. I asked if they could find another tv like mine at stores close by, they said no, we can order another one and wait. They didn't even try. They dropped my new tv and could careless! Despite our inconvenience and major disappointment in missing NFL and US Open and wait for 16 years to have a large tv. We are stuck staring at a blank wall! I guess I am watching YouTube on my iPhone this evening. The manager never called me back. unbelievable experience! They broke our 3-day-old tv and left. Buy from someone else and use someone that cares, like a local audio...
Read moreIn all my time of purchasing from Best Buy, I've never had such a terrible experience. While I understand there is a shortage of employees, this was unacceptable. In my attempt to return a tablet case, the worker gave me a 20-buck short refund. For more than 20 minutes, I had to wait for someone to verify the information and then more time for the manager to arrive and unlock the register. It was only when I attempted to purchase the right case for the tablet that I realized I was short. Aside from trying to buy a new case, the cashier on the counter left the counter three times for other business while I attempted to buy it. After waiting and being ignored and set aside, my purchase felt completely unimportant. While I waited in the store, the line was filling up quickly with people. In the meantime, people were coming and going while I was idle like Humpty Dumpty. Quite embarrassing. While this experience has been infuriating, I won't leave until I buy what I need. The other time I attempted to pick up a huge purchase from Best Buy, I had a similar experience. Despite telling her the name on the order, she wasn't able to locate it, even though I had an email that said the order was ready for pick up. When I even gave the correct phone number, she declined. After showing her an ID, she said she still couldn't find it and threw it onto the counter in a bad manner without even saying sorry. Apparently, she didn't think to check the storage to see if the purchase was under my name. I had to wait for someone else to come help me. I was pleasantly surprised when the other employee found it in less than 10 seconds and got it for me without a problem. There are too many unorganized, overworked employees here. I would not recommend shopping there, returning your items, or picking them up. Buy online and have it shipped or buy elsewhere for a better experience.
