When I was 16 years old I modeled for Marys Bridal in a Bridal Expo at the College of Central Florida. I had always been familiar with Marys because my mother bought her wedding dress from there in 1982. Today, as I was on my way to staples, at 24 years young, I took a chance to stop into Marys because I didn’t see any other cars there and I knew she was “By Appointment Only”. I walked in and asked if I could try on at least one dress, she had told me her next bride was running late and would be there in 30 minutes. So I quickly browsed through the first rack I came to and found a dress that was beautiful, comfortable and fit my body to a T. For once, I felt beautiful in a gown. I tried it on and just like that, I had found my wedding dress, by accident , in gym clothes , in about 15 minutes and one dress later. Of even more significance, today is Founder’s Day for Marys mother, who started up the business all those years ago. And what an honor it was to be able to get my dream dress in her store all these years later, just like my own mother had 37 years ago. It was like it was meant to be! To commemorate Mary, to find a dress in the same place as my mom, and to walk in with gym clothes on and find my dress in a 15 minute time slot before another bride got there. Let me just start off by saying wow!! I am having a last minute wedding and went into Mary’s Boutique thinking it might be a long shot. But boy was I wrong! As soon as I walked in I was greeted by Adrian. She is the sweetest, most attentive, and caring person I have ever met! She helped me and guided me through the entire process of trying on dresses. It was my first time ever trying on a wedding dress. She made the entire thing so pleasurable & stress free. I found my dress instantly (even though I picked a few to try on). The dress I chose was on a mannequin & Adrian ever so gladly took it off for just so I could try it on. As soon as I tried it on we knew it was THE dress. She will give you her honest opinion & will not try to make a sale off of you. She truly cares about you, what your style is/ what you like, and getting you the dress of your dreams! Everything that happened there was an absolute miracle! She even had the veil that I wanted sitting in the back! Plus the seamstress was there that day to take measurements of my dress. Everything was truly a breeze here! I was so worried and stressed before I came to Mary’s. And they just went above and beyond my expectations. I made an appointment at Mary's to find my wedding gown. When I walked in for my appointment I wanted to turn around and leave right away. The place is a dump and looked like a resale shop. She didn't even act like she knew I was coming and was currently working with a bride. She asked me to look around and pull some dresses. I asked if she had a staples bra for me to use she said no and said "don't you have a bra on" yes I have a bra on but its not really conductive to trying on wedding gowns. She then tells me to pull dress I like an go ahead and try them on. Then she went back to the other bride. What was the point of having me make an appointment if I was on my own. My family was with me so we pulled some dresses and my mom came in to help me and the first dress was a size 6 which I have learned in bridal that is a size 2 in street size. Who the hell has sample dresses that are that small. She then says to me "oh you pulled dresses that you liked not ones you could fit into" What? does that make any sense at all?
