I can't even give the ER a 1 star. I woke with a migraine on Monday June 24th. Like most I started throwing up. After several hours of throwing up. I felt like I had something stuck in my throat. My chest hurt. I kept gagging, choking. So my sister in-law brought me to OS ER about 3:45- 4. I explained exactly how I felt. Like I either was having a heart attack or had something stuck in my throat! She told me they would call me as soon as they could. Few minutes later I told them again just how bad it was. Few minutes later they brought me back. Wanted me to lay down so they could do EKG. Well I couldn't, because I pretty much had to stand up or I couldn't breathe at all. But they got me to halfway sit while they did test. Then told me it looked ok. Sent me back out in waiting room. Several hours later all the while I'm gagging, choking, pretty much standing over in corner by bathroom so I can run into it every few minutes to try and cough up, throw up mucus to get some relief. Check your camera I'm the crazy lady holding the yellow towel. That you see go into bathroom hundreds of times! I had to end up throwing towel in your trash can in waiting room. It was so wet from all my mucus and spit! (Later Doctor told me it was my spit/salava I wasn't able to swollow because of blockage in my esophagus) It got to point I couldn't breathe so once again I went to counter told the lady. They sent someone out to where I was standing in corner. And put little thing on my finger. She said oh your oxygen is fine. Your probably having a panic attack. So then the next few hours the same goes on. I pretty much stood in corner and in bathroom all the while gagging, choking, coughing up mucus trying to swollow and breathe. It was horrible and the scariest experience of my life! No one should have had to go through what I did! Finally at 10:30pm they called me back. So way over 6 hours I waited in waiting room! Mind you dozen of people whom got there after me were called back! Then after being brought back I explained everything to them. They say virus. Put me on bag of stuff for dehydration and give me shot for nausea. And something to help swelling in throat. I tell them I'm not nauseous. I can't breathe, chest and neck area hurt, I feel like something is stuck! An hour later they come back in give me another round of each med. The whole time I'm gagging, choking, hucking up what little bit of mucus I can to clear my throat to breathe. I'm not able to sit or lay in bed. I can't keep blood pressure thing on because that's how uncomfortable I am! Finally nurse comes in and said I've been hearing you, you keep "throwing up" there's nothing more we can do. I say something is stuck! She said let me go see. Maybe the doctor is calling a gastroenterologist.. long time later (my son said it had been almost an hour before she came back) the nurse says yes he's calling the stomach doctor. Finally about 30 minutes later the stomach doctor came in the room. He asked me a few questions. Said yes sounded like I had blockage in my esophagus. And said why did they wait over 2 hours to call him? It was 12:30pm then. I said I got here around 4 pm today! I've had to wait over 6 hours in just waiting room and over 2 back here! He couldn't believe it. So I was prepped and had surgery. And yes I had food stuck in my airway/esophagus. So I was choking! Then yesterday I call thinking I'm being proactive, because I don't have health insurance. Trying to see about my bill. Lady tells me it's already $25,000 and pending! I sat over 6 hours actually I stood! Choking and gagging! I had a quick outpatient procedure, and spent hardly any time in recovery before they were having me get dressed. I wasn't even admitted into the hospital! Most ER visits cost $3800. Most 5 night stay in hospital are $10,000. Believe me I have researched it!! $25,000 and still pending!! I make minimum wage and work part time at Dollar General. I live lower than pay check to paycheck. She wants me to pay $145 a month for 5 years. I can tell...
Ā Ā Ā Read more6p.m. I went to the ER via ambulance with two broke bones in the left foot and severe swelling however the ambulance did not remember to send in my shoes. 9:50p.m I go outside to the snack machine and Coca-Cola machine outside the ER due to the fact that I haven't had nothing to eat or drink since 5 since I broke those bones at Walmart on shopping cart. ER nurse states that I can have nothing to eat or drink so I tell them could I please just go ahead and get them to give me a ride home b&i come into my emblems that I have no shoes and she tells me we can't provide you with a right and a smart aleck way so I commenced to tell her well I will be here all night then cuz I do not have a ride and no shoes so she walks over to the ocean springs police hut and tells us something so he comes to the sign Guy stores outside and says ma'am come here I said for what she says just come here so I walk outside and he tells me I'm barred from the ocean springs hospital due to the fact that I don't want to be seen there I said I did not say I didn't want to be seen I just said I was hoping to get some steroids and I came in a work excuse and get a ride provided home being at the hospitals provide taxi or some kind of service home to make sure the patient gets home safely he said where you're not going back in Iask why he said you'll never come back to the hospital again I said listen to her which was mr. Michael Upton the police officer I have no shoes on my feet ,i to have two broke bones, a patient armband and no ride home and he told me that I could not go back into the ER and stood in front of the doors like a big coward that he was because if I could have got a hold of him it wouldn't have been good. so I called my ride which took 20 minutes to get there from Biloxi Mississippi and I told him well I need to urinate he said we'll just urinate on the concrete cuz you're not going back in here. he bilso asked for backup officer which was a big African American male and they both stood there laughing at me I told him fine I'll piss on a concrete cuz you'll be the one clean it so I think this was awful to be a patient there and not provide a ride with a patient that had two broke bones on their feet and no shoes and a nurse told me to leave and go outside with this place and they tell me to get off the property so I had to stand on the public sidewalk and wait for a ride raining with no shoes on my feet and armband and which I was supposed to be seen. Therefore I wasn't even saying so I will not be paying for no x-rays or no ambulance ride. Please stay away from these gung-ho, military acting, sons of b** nurses and all. Veterinarians treat...
Ā Ā Ā Read more3* years later, Iām still very upset ā¦š” I shouldāve sued the hospital!!! I would give the money to charity! AND Please do not send me back a message that your computer sends to everyone with your number. This is the most insensitive Hospital I have ever been in!
This hospital should be shut down! My son was given Fentanyl along with 3 other sedatives! Comatose/ Paralyzed. He couldnāt even fight for his life. They didnāt have a clue of what they were doing! Lies, lies lies!
They left myself & another in a room āgoing over my oldest sonās medical concernsā and forgot about us! We were in there for probably an hour waiting for them to come back and they never came back.
If you have a loved one in this hospital, pull back their sheets, check skin condition from not being rolled everyday because of being ābigā My son was 290. Iām sure there has been bigger patients than that. Maybe they shouldnāt have sedated him so much so he couldāve helped them. Where is their training?
Insist on seeing medical care & records of daily treatment. The nurses lied to us. See what care is given to your loved one, see the proof! Speak up! Get a second opinion.
My sonās ventilator balloon in his throat malfunctioned & THEY DIDNāT EVEN KNOW FOR 3 DAYS! They didnāt know why he was losing oxygen/not getting enough (WOW) They do not go back and double check their work. Any professional nurse or doctor would have checked for that immediately after being rolled!!!! (especially when they were losing oxygen).
They leave patients in the emergency room for 7+ hours after theyāve passed out and then send them home with Covid, double pneumonia and being diabetic before being admitted the next day after waiting more hours in ER.
Iām saddened that my son died in this hospital from the lack of care after being there less than a month!! He got an infection & shame the doctors letting this happen because of a ventilator malfunction in throat causing lack of oxygen & it all went downhill from there š”
Y-TUBE ? How insensitive to families !!!! The Nurse, Kylee & Doctor talking about Covid patients on U-Tube? How dare HER say on U-TUBE that patients state āThey donāt want to dieā Well my son DID & Iām sure he didnāt want to. Shame on her! They should to be talking about what they could do differently (find easier ways to roll patients so the ventilators are not damaged) I hope they donāt sleep at night just like me losing my...
