My sisters and I were there on a Thursday night around 7pm. We are from out of town, had been traveling all day and were ready to start our vacation.
We were seated right away and the waitress was prompt to take our drink orders. The food came very quickly and looked very good. But it was cold. I cut into my California burrito and it was not even room temperature. The cheese sauce on top was barely warm. Our other 2 entrees were also cold. I informed the waitress that our food was cold and she said she would have to ask the manager if there was anything they could do about it. She came back and told us the manager said the California Burrito would always be cold because it had lettuce and tomato in it. I handed her a piece of the meat from inside and told her that lettuce and tomato would not make the meat cold. She offered to microwave out food to heat it. When I refused to allow her to microwave the food, she did bring the manager over. He agreed to have our food remade. We asked the manager and waitress if we could have more salsa while we waited. When 2 of our 3 entrees came out we still had not received the salsa and asked the waitress again. The waitress came back to the table and was asked a third time for salsa. After another 10 minutes, my sister got up from the table and got the salsa herself. My California Burrito came out just as my sisters finished eating their dinners. The first thing I did was touch it and it was barely warm. Nothing on the plate was more than warm. When I told the waitress she said she took the plate as soon as it was put in the window. That means it came out of the kitchen cold. Since everyone else was finished eating, I told her that I didn't want it anymore.
The manager was at the cash register when I checked out. When he asked how our dinner was I told him that I was very unhappy that my dinner came out cold a second time and that I was leaving a restaurant hungry. He said the kitchen had probably added cheese to the cheese sauce and it hadn't come to temperature yet. THEN WHY SERVE IT?! He argued with me that it should have been acceptable.
I would not recommend El...
Read moreHave eaten here approximately 20 years. Lunches, dinner's, anniversaries, graduations, family gatherings, a friend or two... sometimes alone. Enjoyed well prepared food...good tea but the straws are ALWAYS too short. Barely stick above tea level. Good desserts. (Note the restroom could be cleaner... hand soap would be nice) BUT LAST & FINAL VISIT there a misunderstanding between the (nice) waiter & myself which they handled completely wrong caused an unfortunate scene. I sat not touching anything & asked for what I had pointed to. The gentleman did not speak or understand English very well. I AM NOT PREJUDICE by any measure & my very large family is multiracial. The manager comes to the table & tells me I ordered 16. Again I explain I POINTED to my selection. 16, 15,, 82,or 9....pointed with my finger! He kept insisting I received the right meal. He got louder & louder EVEN TELLING my guest (I always pay the bill too & tip well... I've done this work too in my earlier life). My guest just stared at him in disbelief. I was so UNNECESSARILY embarrassed & insulted over a simple dinner misunderstanding. I rarely....only 2 times in my life... have 'asked' , not complained, about a meal. I didn't want a free meal. I asked for the correct one which even cost more in a respectable manner as my mother taught me. I sat as my guest ate. My dinner sat untouched. I paid the ENTIRE BILL in a respectful manner & thanked the cashier. I tipped the waiter we had. They didn't offer to replace the dinner nor deduct the cost of it. This simply shows the character of the manager.
I simply will...
Read moreI would like to give this place no stars! The first time I ate there it was okay, second time the cheese dip taste like it had dog food in it. Pretty even with Taco Bell's cheapest meat then the server placed my order wrong. Varified the dish I ordered with me after I had mentioned it was wrong she tried convincing me that I ordered the wrong dish. When my husband spoke with the manager the server told the manager I ordered the one she wrote down which was not the one I ordered nor the one she verified with me. When she took our order she didn't write anything down so I don't know when she wrote that down. I ordered a large margarita and I can guarantee there was barely any tequila in that. For somebody who never drinks I expected to at least have felt a little bit like I had a drink. My husband's order was completely wrong. Then when we spoke with the manager she acted like she really didn't care it seemed as if we were a nuisance and they just one of their customers out. All-in-all I waited 2 months for that date spent almost $70 and food that tasted like canned dog food and not even what I ordered. We also had a two year old never once offered a high chair needed a spoon so he could eat but the server was nowhere to be found. Personally I would have given her a $2 tip maybe four went on all she didn't deserve one at all but my husband was generous and he was the most upset since he's the one that likes...
