The furniture here is nice; I bought a bedroom set plus mattress and got great service from the sales/floor staff and was happy with that process.
The delivery and post-delivery support is the reason for the bad review. I want any reader to keep in mind that this is not cheapo, Rooms To Go crappy quality furniture; I spent just shy of $8,000 on all my pieces (king bed, dresser, chest, 2 nightstands, high end memory foam mattress) and expect $8,000 worth of quality out of the entire process.
I had my furniture delivered a few weeks after purchasing it because I needed it delivered on a weekend, as I have a job to pay for said furniture and need to be there during the days of the week. When the furniture was delivered, it was delivered already assembled and the delivery team brought it to my bedroom. Most of the pieces were fine and delivered in good shape, but I had two problems: the dresser had a big hunk of one of the feet broken off (about a quarter of the 'foot' was gone) and this stood out rather distinctly as I had dark furniture and it was wood colored where the missing piece was, because they obviously can't paint/stain the inside of the wood. One of the drawers on this piece was filled with little chunks of styrofoam, which I assume resulted in breaking the styrofoam the parts shipped in and then not cleaning it up, which I had to do myself.
My second problem was with the bed. There are three slats that support the box springs and each slat has two legs to support the slats. Two of the slats and their accompanying legs were put on just fine, but whoever did the third one completely halfassed it and put the slat on upside down, screwed the legs into it backwards, and that resulted in one of them ripping out. I know he put it on upside down because I noticed little chunks of broken wood and the fallen leg on the floor and looked at it, and lo-and-behold there is a damn sticker facing the ground that says "this side up" on it. Nice one.
Also, one of them knocked over my alarm lamp that simulates the sun rising and broke the special bulb required to go in it. There was absolutely no offer to replace it, even after I specifically said that it was a special bulb I had to order and was not cheap (the replacement bulb was $27, by the way). I faxed the purchase order to Hudson's and never heard a word about reimbursement for the bulb their staff broke.
It took over two weeks to get the repair guy to come fix the broken furniture. He would call, leave a message, then not return calls; when I finally got ahold of him and told him I wanted him to come out on a weekend and fix it, he got whiney about not having any jobs in my part of town (don't care, not my problem) and couldn't get out there except on a Tuesday. So not only did I deal with broken furniture for two weeks, I had to take a half-day off of work because I got a three hour window for the repair guy to come out and fix furniture that was delivered broken. Once he got out to my place, he took care of everything and my furniture has been fine ever since, and he did a good job repairing the broken bits.
Final complaint-- I purchased during a "buy furniture, get a free TV" promotion. I asked the sales guy how I got the TV and he said a gift card/certificate to Best Buy would be delivered with my furniture. When I asked the delivery guys about it, they said they didn't have it and it would be mailed to me when they filed my paperwork and it should take a week or so to get to me. 6 days later I called to follow up as I still hadn't seen it, and was told by customer service "the girl that handles those is on vacation and will be back next week" and to expect it a week after that. After all these shenanigans, I finally got it a week later and went to the waking nightmare that is Best Buy and got my TV.
What a headache. Is this what people have to go through for nice furniture? This is the kind of service 8...
Read moreI have been looking for a recliner set with matching sleeper sofa for months, to go into my bonus room that is a game room doubling as a guest bedroom when family is in town. I knew right away I wanted to get good quality furniture set since it will be used quite heavily and I don't want to be replacing it in 2 years. I literally visited every major furniture store within close proximity to Ocoee this list included rooms to go, kanes, american signature, bears, Havertys among others. I got to experience the night and day difference between Hudsons and everyone else around. Let me first say John my sales rep was fantastic throughout the entire process. He was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, polite and patient. John made the entire process a breeze. I swear that every other store I went into it felt like I was at your local used car lot with vulture sales reps making the experience a total dread. At Hudsons in Ocoee dealing with John specifically was by far the best furniture shopping experience I've ever had. He set me up with there in house designer to ensure the pieces I was looking at would fit into the space and even helped me find the most optimal layout to maximize and show of the space. Did I mention this service was completely free??? How great was that! I want to say thank you to the team at Hudson's. I'm very happy with my purchase! I will be back.
I recommend Hudson's in Ocoee to anyone in the market for good quality furniture. You will enjoy the buying experience I assure you just ask for John you wont be disappointed! 5 stars because google wont...
Read moreThe experience was fine, by far the better location to shop for furniture than the Altamonte store (at the Altamonte store an employee wouldn't leave us be to look at their selection, and instead lounged on all the couches we were trying out like he was a model). The furniture in question at both this and the Altamonte location are low quality. The first couch we purchased sagged greatly and the frame broke from just... sitting on the thing. Our second couch (which we purchased due to a refund credit from the first couch falling so badly) was a power recliner couch, and it broke the first time we tried to recline it. A technician came out to look and was surprised how badly it looked, put the couch back into its upright position, and recommended we never recline the couch. So we paid more for a couch that could recline, and now it can't even do that. We contacted them on this issue on the 16th, the technician came out to check on the 19th. It is now the 25th, and it has yet to be resolved. We've been told four different dates when they would get back to us, and each time it gets pushed back. In addition, every bit of communication has been from us to them. It appears Hudson's has no intention of swiftly fixing any issues their customers have, as our first couch had a warranty and it took over two months to be inspected and removed.
Highly recommend to avoid any and all Hudson's. There's better-made less frustrating furniture selections out there.
If for whatever reason you do have to shop at Hudson's, choose the Ocoee location; the Altamonte Springs location...
