I sent my twin hear recently and he has a mental condition that causes him to respond a tad bit slower then most people, he actually has to think before he responds and such and this is always the case for him but I sent him there a week ago and he was on the phone with our mother, And the way he was spoken to and handled was in such a way that I am ashamed to have sent him there believing he would have been treated fairly , I have been a recent customer and had been a customer almost daily and have never been treated the way he was treated. he was met with rudeness ,disrespect and a lack of empathy as he tries to explain himself to the staff and manager that he was trying to do as he was told .... put on a covid mask. He was met with disrespect and smart comments as to the fact that he didn't respond immediately ( as if he was moving slow on purpose) and that he didn't do as was told fast enough (meaning put on a covid mask , our mother even heard him say clearly he was trying to do as told ,he just was wondering why seeing as though he had just left public's and didn't have to have it on its not like he wasnt trying to put it on and was saying so. He also explained that he had a mental issue and was trying to COMPREHEND what was being asked of him. This place sucks because of that and that alone , no one wants to shop where folks will be mean to them and rude and come off as seemingly racial and we are biracial at that so we have never delt with any of this type of stuff, this place Is bad based off of the staff and the way they treat people when Faced with difference and diversity and they are not aware of the level of stress this has added to our lives and we are ALL dealing with enough as is. Not to mention they the proceeded to call the police and when my twin called back the police officer explained that even he and the other staff saw it was simply a big misunderstanding and my twin was even advised by the officer that he could make a complaint ,all and all this was a very sad and depressing ordeal for anyone to deal with let alone to be hindered by a mental illness just to be judged and talked to as if he was doing something wrong by not responding...
Read moreFirst off let me start by saying that I'm a reasonable person I understand that they have to make a profit they have overhead they have expenses they have to pay obviously. But with that being said when I bring in probably close to $1,000 worth of stuff if I were to sell it used personally the revenue that they would have probably made from it would have been probably 1000 - $ 1500. They offered me $8 for a pair of brand new Jordans that they had on their wall for $120 used the same pair mind you accept mine were brand new and there's were used. the items were four pairs of Oakleys a pair of Ray-Bans and a brand-new Lacoste watch not to mention four pairs of almost mint pairs of Sperrys and numerous pieces of clothing all name brand. I was shocked and I mean shocked to hear the woman offer me $70 for my apparel I didn't come to make money I came to get some stuff out of my closet and walk away with a few dollars for it I didn't expect to be rich today leaving Plato's Closet but to offer me 70 plus dollars is a spit in the face that is unbelievable while browsing they had several items that I was donating market so ridiculously high I couldn't believe it they had shoes for $120 that I can go to Ross's and buy for 40 bucks brand new do not go to Plato's Closet come to me I will sell your stuff for you personally and make you more money than they will. They should literally be ashamed of themselves.
Please please go to Ross's Marshalls or TJ Maxx if you want name brand apparel at reasonable prices I will promise you you will save more money going to buy brand new there then you will at...
Read moreIf I could leave a no star review I would. I come to Plato's closets all over Florida and this is by far the worst one I've ever been to. Me and my boyfriend were greeted at the door only because we had to put hand sanitizer on. We were accompanied by my service animal. One of the employees told us that there were no dogs allowed in their store. I informed her that he was a service animal. She then asked me "where's his stuff?". I asked which stuff she was referring to and she said a vest. I told her that a service animal was not required to wear any type of identification. She then proceeded to let me and my boyfriend shop around the store. We were at the checkout buying $50 worth of stuff. My dog then threw up on the floor. I asked for paper towels and I sprayed the floor down and cleaned it up myself. That same employee came up to me and my boyfriend and abruptly told us that we had to get out because she knew that it wasn't a service animal. I told her that she could get shut down for refusing service to someone for having a service animal. My boyfriend and I decided to not spend our hard-earned money at a place that had poor customer service. Not only that but then she proceeded to talk badly about us to other customers in front of us as we were leaving. We were then met by the Mom and 17-year-old girl customers outside who verbally fought us. Honestly TRASH location. NEVER COMING BACK. DON'T...
