My daughter and I had some clothing , shoes and accessories that we wanted to sell instead of having a garage sale. I decided to Google shops that purchased preowned clothes near us. The Clothes Mentor was one of the shops that came up. Although it was a distant out, my daughter and I decided to check it out. Upon arrival, the sales associate saw us carrying several shopping bags, appeared to be quite friendly and helpful. She asked if we wanted to drop off some items for sell and proceeded to take the necessary information from us. She asked if we would rather they call or text us when they were finished with our items. I told her to please text me. We decided to kill some time while waiting for them to call back. They finally sent me a text about an hour and a half later letting us know that they were finished and we could come back to pick up whatever they chose not to buy. I asked if they selected anything and she said yes but she couldn't tell me how much over the phone. Needless to say, they only selected 2 items out of at least 15 clothing pieces, several pair like new fashionable shoes and a medium size zip lock bag of costume jewelry. I couldn't believe the reasons they gave for not selecting more items. I walked around the sales floor to see what kind of clothes they sold. I have 15 plus years as a Sales Executive for Nordstrom Store in San Francisco Bay Area, a Manager for Casual Corner in Walnut Creek Calif.and owner of my own Clothing Boutique. I couldn't believe I heard the young lady say that a lot of the clothes were dated and out of style ! The items that I saw on the sales floor were definitely plain and inexpensive by my standard's and the previous companies I worked for. The average price of a ladies suit in the department I worked in at Nordstrom cost anywhere from $350.00 to $950.00. They offered me $15.00 for a Coach Purse and a pair of Fancy Distressed Blue Jeans ! On a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best, I would give them a 2 rating and wouldn't recommend them to anybody if they want to sell anything ! My first and last time going to this store. Poor Customer Service at...
Read moreThis review is based on my first and second, but definitely last visit to this store. I brought in a large collection of quality clothing and accessories—many items barely worn, some brand new with tags, including two authentic Coach purses. I waited several minutes at the counter before anyone even acknowledged I was there. When someone finally did acknowledge me I was told I needed to leave my items— but because I didn’t have bags I was comfortable parting with, I left and returned later that day with everything properly packed. Here’s where it gets unacceptable: the store’s website clearly states you get “cash on the spot.” To a first time customer this implies your items will be reviewed while you wait. This did not happen. I left my things and received a text message then received a phone call. The phone call wasn’t a professional update—it was a short message telling me if I didn’t return to pick up my items, they would be donated. That was incredibly off-putting. I had valuable items so I came back the same day as the phone call where I was told they wouldn’t be purchasing a single item. No explanation. No feedback. Just a blanket rejection. Let’s be clear: with the exception of one item, the remaining items I brought in were stylish, seasonally appropriate, and in excellent condition. Women’s jeans, brand-name bags, barely worn tops—including items with the tags still attached.I was offered nothing. Instead, I received a $5 gift voucher, which honestly felt like a consolation prize for having my time wasted. It was more insulting than generous. I’m from Florida, where style tends to be a bit more current and fashion-forward. Clearly, there’s a very different sense of what’s “in” here in Oklahoma, Out of curiosity, I browsed the store during my first visit and most of their inventory looked horribly outdated, (think icky feeling polyester) faded, worn, etc., it gave more “clear-out bin at Goodwill” than a curated...
Read moreThis store has changed so much since their last manager. Today went to the store when they first opened: no greeting. In there for about 20 minutes & when a customer came in they were greeted automatically. I received a phone call and continued through the store.
While I was on the phone, I was able to still listen to the cashier, but not once asked if I was a member. I td her after the transaction I was one and she said she didn't want to both me while I was on the phone.
After I told her that I wanted the purchase to be counted, she said she would have to do it over again . I looked at her and said ok.
When she did it again without saying a word, I said I don't want to oay for your salary today with this experience. I asked what was her name she said I don't have to give her name. I asked the other girl what was her name, she said the same thing.
I said where is the manager, they said they didn't have one. I did not want to sign for a refund since they didn't want to provide their name and the young girl thought it was very funny.
I was so mad at both of them and gave them the same unwanted energy they gave me.
I travelled to the other side to shop again. I would NEVER EVER recommend this store to anyone WHO...
