I have been a patient of Dr Chase Vervack for over 5 years. Last year he sent me to Retina an eye specialist to have a lesion examined. First let me state in 2017 this lesion was called a freckle and in 2018 all of a sudden the entire corner was cut out! So they had no comparison but it was there I have a time stamped photo not sharing due to actions I am looking into! 2018 -2021 this as his office called a freckle the 2021 specialist referral stated a lesion. Yes shocking and much different understanding to a freckle. I have been to Retina 3 times and had Retina imaging and has equaled to 6 total sets lates March 2022 by Retina Dr. Hood. My annual is due and since these images are not cover by either eye or major medical I called to inquire the necessity with such a short time and possible risk of over imaging. I was hung up on multiple times and refused access to my doctor or a medical professional who is trained to answer my questions! I just got treated horrible and when I escalated after be hung up on numerous times they say we won’t take your abuse! I have a right as a patient to have access to my paid physician and questions answered by an educated professional licensed to give such. Instead I was denied and hung up on over and over again. Here is my problem I need to know why it is mandatory but not covered by health or eye insurance due to not having hard evidence of prevention. Also is it really needed if I had it done by a specialist he referred me to last June who performed the images in march less than 3 months to date! I am not a one off patient I have trusted my eye to this doctor for 6 years now! I am not happy be refused access and abuse! This IS AND WILL BE ADDRESSED HOWEVER I have to do it! I am a Data Scientist, Doctors Son, and employed by the LARGEST Consumer Protection Firm in the US! This is not over! Maybe Cristy should have answered she gets a patient’s...
Read moreI went to Dr. Vervack about five years ago. I told him the vision in one of my eyes had gotten ever so slightly blurry. He laughed it off and said I would not notice slight vision loss in one eye rather than investigating. I took his word for it and assumed my eye was fine, ignoring the blurriness. A few years later I decide to get a second opinion (which I should have done sooner) and it turns out I have keratoconus which has basically been causing my cornea to weaken and change shape. At this point, vision in my right eye had degraded to 400/20 or something crazy. I have had corneal linking since but that only halts the progress of the disease, it does not reverse the damage already done. With the procedure and annoying scleral lenses which push my cornea down I get 50/20 vision in my right eye.
I would not recommend this, or any, optometrist for anything other than routine eye exams. If you are seriously concerned about an eye-health issue go elsewhere. I would recommend asking your primary care for a referral to an eye specialist. These "doctors" are there to churn out glasses prescriptions, which isn't too terrible until they brush off potentially...
Read morePeople are friendly but they lie. I was misquoted the cost of initial visit over the phone and asked for $40 more after I came in and the exam was over. They were very friendly when they told me I had to pay more and said they would talk to the associate who misquoted but they wouldn’t honor what I had been quoted.
Furthermore, I came in for a contact fitting and they often didn’t have the Rx for trial pairs I needed in biofinity brand but did had the right Rx for the trial pairs of in house Pearl vision brand. They didn’t offer to order the right trial Rx and told me just to try the off Rx of biofinity and correct Rx in pearl vision brand. Other offices I have visited have offered to order the right trials so I could try them but pearl vision could not be bothered. So ofcourse the correct Rx was more comfortable! Anyways I left feeling lied to, cheated, and misdirected towards buying their product.
I would not recommend seeing Dr. Vervack or this location for contact lenses. I came in because of the misleading misquoted contact exam service. You can receive better quality care somewhere else for the same price, but with honesty...
