I don't know that this experience could have been much worse, but at least the food was fresh and tasty. We had reservations for a friend's birthday, only 3 of us, we arrived slightly early to be considerate and still had to wait 20+ minutes to be seated. As we were seated, the server introduces herself and gives us a rundown of the menu, takes our drink order and we hit the salad bar. When we return the drinks (sodas/water) are there and that's about the only attentiveness we experienced. As we were into our salads, I realize we didn't have napkins, they were not on our table with the silverware. I ask our server, the 2nd one we were introduced to who was a man and the 1st was a woman, and he says he'll be right back with napkins. 10 more minutes pass by, I go up to the bar and ask the manager, tall slim guy in a suit, for napkins, he turns to a server and the server asks where I'm sitting and he says he'll have them asap. 10 minutes go by and I approach the same manager at the bar again saying I've asked a couple times and still haven't gotten napkins, in which he hands me 2 beverage napkins. I say "sir, we'd like napkins to use to clean our faces, not beverage napkins" which he then quickly steps to a stock supply right next to the bar and hands me napkins. After going back to the table, we then are waiting for dinner plates. After another 10-15 minutes with nobody checking on us, I get up to get us salad plates from the salad bar and return to flip our cards over, we were ready. The staff serving the meats were all super kind and served very hot and fresh food, everything we had tasted good. After sitting for 30-45 minutes eating, our friend who only eats chicken is full and ready to go, I ask our male server if they have filet tonight and he says yes, we always have filet. And I asked if we could get some and told him we had been waiting to try it and it never came by, he said I'll get them right over. We also ask for our check at this time. About 15 more minutes go by and he comes by and tells us it just takes a bit for the filet which is why we haven't seen it... After being there for over an hour at this point. He leaves and we don't see him again. The guy I mentioned before who the manager from the bar asked to get napkins, comes behind me, reaches over to fill my friends glass (we all had water and other drinks, he refilled my friends club soda) then when leaning back from being over me, spills the pitcher all down my left side, my arm was soaked. He laughs it off and apologizes. After we finished eating we finally got the mashed potatoes and palette cleansers. We waited probably another 20 minutes before anyone checked on us and another 15-20 after we asked for the check. Honestly, probably the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. Severely disappointed for a $230+ meal for 3 people and the service was that mediocre, nobody ever seemed like they wanted to help or make you feel welcome. What a bummer on a night that was supposed to be spent celebrating our friend was spent regretting our decision to try something new. We will stick with...
Read moreI have visited Fogo de Chao steakhouses in other states and was so excited to try the new one in OKC. Last night I went there with my mother and son for dinner. We were sat in a table tucked away near the front door, behind a pillar. Initially the server was quick to come over to take our order. We ordered waters to start and said that we needed a second to look over the drinks while we waited on someone to return from the bathroom. The server was disappointed in our tap water order and came back, slamming the water glasses down on the table then hurrying away. We waited and waited for him to come back for about 15 minutes. After that time, we went up to the salad bar. There were several items out (including dressings) and it was messy. I quickly grabbed my food and headed back to the table. We ate our salads and waited for the server to come back. We continued to wait. After being there about an hour, a different server came in and asked us if they could get us anything else. We replied that the meat portion of the meal had not even come by and we had not received sides or been able to place our drink order yet. He apologized and said he would arrange for the sides and the meat service to start. He brought back the sides shortly thereafter and a few meats began to circulate around. The sides were very small portions (example: We had enough mashed potatoes for everyone to get one tablespoon full). The meat servers would frequently walk right past our table despite the token being flipped to green. When we did get some of the meats, it was small portions that weren't always warm either. We asked for more sides because the small size of them and asked for a coke that never arrived. Out of everything there, I would say I got to eat enough bread since everything else was such as small portion. Eventually, nearing 1.5/2 hours, we eat and stack our plates for pickup. We're waiting on the check. After waiting around 15 minutes, finally the server asks if I need the check. I reply yes. I continue to wait while someone busses the table around me, someone finally the busser if I need a check. I reply yes. Eventually my check gets to me. In the essence of time, I hand my card off and wait some more for its return. I did not see an itemized receipt so I don't know if I was charged for the drink we never received but I didn't have another 30 minutes to wait for assistance. I paid around $250 for one of the most disappointing dinner services I've received.
Overall, I love Brazilian steakhouses and had high hopes for this one because of my other experiences at the chain however the OKC location falls very flat right now. For the price I paid, I expected way better service and availability of items. Very...
Read moreSo my friend John brought me here, fully aware that I’m probably the pickiest eater alive. I don’t like much of anything—except meat. And at Fogo de Chão, meat isn’t just food, it’s practically an art form.
We went for the Full Churrasco Experience, which is the signature rodízio-style service where gaucho chefs circle the room carrying massive skewers of fire-roasted meats. They carved slices of everything from the famous picanha (Brazil’s prized top sirloin with that perfect fat cap) to fraldinha (bottom sirloin sliced against the grain), filet mignon, beef ancho (ribeye), alcatra (another juicy cut of sirloin), and bacon-wrapped medalhões. On top of that, there were costela (slow-grilled beef ribs), cordeiro (lamb chops and picanha), garlicky frango (chicken), linguiça (spicy pork sausage), and even bisteca de porco (thick pork chops). Each cut was different, each cut was delicious, and before I knew it, my plate was overflowing.
Here’s the trick I learned, though: flip your little token to green and tell the gauchos “more, more, more” early on. If you hesitate, they ghost you just long enough for your stomach to start waving the white flag—only to come back later with another round of sizzling steak when you’ve already hit that “I can’t eat another bite” moment.
The Market Table & Feijoada Bar looked stunning. It was loaded with seasonal salads, roasted veggies, cheeses, cured meats, Brazilian black bean stew, and farofa. I’ll admit, I didn’t touch it (salad and I are sworn enemies), but my friend raved about it. He did point out that the shrimp was missing this time, which was a slight letdown compared to past visits.
The atmosphere was lively and upscale—perfect for a night out. Service was spot-on, the gauchos were friendly, and the staff kept everything moving smoothly. The only small knock? The music over our table was just a bit too loud.
Yes, prices have gone up, but let’s be honest: you’re not just paying for dinner, you’re paying for an event. This is not a grab-and-go meal. This is a place you take your mom, your family, or anyone worth celebrating with. It’s an indulgence, and it’s worth every penny.
Bottom line: I’ll absolutely be back. For a picky eater like me to say that about a restaurant? That’s...
