I like to think I leave reviews that are both positive and negative. If someone goes out of their way, one way or the other, to leave me with an impression, I think it's good to let others know. Today, an impression was made. Google shows the Sunday hours to begin at 11am. I drove 45 minutes to be at the store when they opened, so that I could buy a birthday present for my daughter. We called ahead and asked them put the item hold for a quick transaction. Standing at the door, just after 11am, I see someone in the back room that is stocking. No big deal, I thought, I can lose track of time as well. I waited a couple min and decided to knock on the door. The employee sees I am there, and reluctantly walks up and opens the door. Here is where the impression was made. With a lack of any empathy, I was told that they do not open until 12pm, and that I must have been mistaken when I mentioned that they advertised being open earlier. She couldn't close the door soon enough. Another employee walks in moments after the door was shut on me, and by that time I had pulled up the Google maps location information. I knocked again, and showed her the info. She, again showing a great deal of agitation, explains that I'd need an Apple phone if I wanted accurate information on their hours. Google was just wrong. When asked if there was something she could do to help me, considering the issue, you can guess that she was not at all creative or empathetic in her response. This employee was not friendly, nor apologetic. Empathy would have gone a long way to make up for an issue with their hours. Instead I was left with the impression that my time didn't matter to them, and they didn't want my money. I got tired of working retail, too. But, I knew I had to be polite until I was able to work my way out of it. I'm hoping that this employee isn't always like this...but I certainly won't return...

The staff in the store is shockingly bad. So bad I almost walked out, but, I am visiting family and wanted to buy an item in store for once. Not a single sales person felt the need to say "welcome, let me know if I can assist!"...when I said "this is my first time in a KS store" no one explained to me that I needed to provide the item to a sales person and they would get a new item from the back.
I asked for an alcohol wipe to try on earrings and I was looked at like I had 20 heads. Hey guess what staff- you should have them readily available for customers trying on earrings!
The icing on the cake was when I provided a bracelet to a sales person and I was told it would be held with my other items up at the front desk. I ended up buying 3 items and I did not check the items while the person rang me out. I mean, how hard is it to pick out the exact item a customer handed you?? Once I got home, to my surprise, I received the wrong bracelet! It was similar but not so similar where it could have been an easy mistake. My view on this is-sales person either pulling a fast one or absolutely not paying attention.
I love Kendra Scott jewelry and do not have a brick and mortar store anywhere near me in Boston. I have ordered jewelry several times online and received KS gifts. I appreciate the jewelry.
I will contact the corporate office because I am pretty concerned about the alcohol wipe situation and would love to know if I should expect poor service at...
Read moreThis review is not about the store but about the company. The staff at the store was very friendly and patient.
Kendra Scott should review their policies to support positive customer service experiences. First…. The birthday “club” - even though the discount has been altered and changed to only include a limited selection of products for the 50%, while disappointing, I do understand. The addition of special promotion purchases could be positive to some. The main reason for my review is their return policy. I admit, I did not read completely and if I had, I would not have purchased the $80, no discount, “will they go with my outfit” earrings for my daughter. With those items that are “final sale” the staff is excellent in communicating their policies; this was not communicated and the item was full priced. All the years I have purchased from them, I’ve never returned anything. When I went back 4 days later to return, I was notified of their policy, no refunds just exchange or store credit. I purchase the majority of my jewelry from a different high end retailer and have no issues if I need to return something. However, I am forced to purchase another $80 item from Kendra Scott.
I’m sure my limited business does not mean anything however I will use my credit and then I’m done with...
