I usually try not to leave bad reviews, but last night was simply too horrible not to say something.
My Twins turned 16 yesterday. They wanted to go somewhere they'd never been before and chose this place. We decided to give it a try since it was a special night. It was a choice we regretted from the moment we walked in.
We got there around 8:40 (They didn't close until 10. We always make sure we aren't those people that show up right before close. This is important for later) We weren't greeted with a smile or a "Welcome in" type of greeting you'd expect from most restaurants. The staff were stand-offish and somewhat rude. We had a party of 10, but one of the members of our party hadn't made it yet. "We can't seat you until everyone is here." was what we were told. I understand that policy it there are long waitlists, but there was no one else waiting to be seated and open tables, so it didn't make sense. Within just a minute or two our 10th person decided they couldn't make it, so we only had 9. "Is everyone here?" "Are you sure everyone is here?" "We can't seat you if everyone is not here." were the responses the three times I repeated that everyone was, in fact, there. Seemingly reluctant, they seated us. It's 8:45.
We shook off that experience and chalked it up to maybe just a tough night for those at the front door. Man, were we wrong. We get seated and the server seemed kind and gets our drink order. The drinks come in a few minutes which was cool. Then I ask her if they do anything for birthdays. It's around 8:50. "We sing a song and that's all." As I'm trying to talk to her more and let her know it's my Twins birthday, she turns and walks off while I'm in mid sentence. Um, ok. Again, I shake it off as maybe she's busy and distracted. It happens, right? Then we sit there and don't see her again for what seemed like 10 mins. It's like 9:00. I had to flag down another person to try and get some service. Meanwhile folks who were seated at the same time as us, were already getting their appetizers. Finally, she comes back over and asks if we're ready to order. We order our appetizers and food. I let her know it's the twins birthday and we'd like them to do whatever it is they do. It's 9:05ish. We finally get our food around 9:25ish or so. I'm not trippin. We eat our food. I paid the bill on their little tablet thing. After I paid, she comes over at 9:45 and says "I'm sorry, we can't do a song. People are cleaning and want to go home so they don't want to sing." Um, ok. It was 40 minutes AFTER we had the conversation! My twins were so disappointed! It was their 16th birthday and, although teen-ly embarrassed, looking forward to the birthday song. I was also disappointed. We had tried to be very patient and understanding with everything that had happened. We spent $250 on the meal, and, even with the experience we had, I still tipped 20% on top of that, for people to not want to make two girls night special because they wanted to go home. There was still 15 minutes left til closing! Other people were still eating! I was so appalled and frustrated. We decided to sing to them ourselves. It took, what, 30 seconds, maybe? Smh.
Think everything would be over, right? Nah. On the way out, "Don't touch this side, go out on that side." was what we were rudely sent on our way with out the door. Not "Have a good night, come again." No smile and a thanks. Or "Preciate ya!"
I hate leaving bad reviews. It's such a sucky thing to do. But this is hands down one of THE worst experiences we've had anywhere. We will not be coming back to...

My boyfriend and I received a gift card to Texas Roadhouse. We of course went.
The date was January 9th. We phoned in the order around 5pm and got there soon after. We checked in at the desk. The waitress told us they were sending someone to go get it and that they would call our name. We sat and waited. It got fishy because we were not there when it was busy (their peak hours are 6-7pm). It started to get busy it was around 6pm. Our name had not been called. Many people were going up and getting their carryout orders and we had not got ours. We ask the staff where our order was it had been over an hour. They were kind and said they would get it right out. We had to sit to the side to wait even longer. 30 MINUTES later they finally brought it out. It took about an hour and 30 minutes to receive our order.
We bring our meal home. I take a bite of the burger and it was raw inside. Completely raw. I did not even get to eat my dinner! We report it to the Texas Roadhouse website. The next day we receive a call back from the manager. We explained the situation and she handled it very professionally. The manager said she would run it by the kitchen staff and get it taken care of. She said we were not the first to complain (you can see some proof in some of the other reviews on Google. Such as someone getting food poisoning from poorly cooked fish). She e-mailed a voucher as collateral.
We waited for the situation to get handled. The date is January 17th when we decide to go back. We ordered it in and we were told the estimated time. We waited longer to go up to the restaurant this time (about 30 min). We see the manager we talked to on the phone was there. She was checking on the two desks at the front. We checked in at the carryout desk and they had the order right out. They even opened up the meal container to show that it was our meal. They did not have the fries on one of the burgers so he ran and got them. The young gentleman who was taking care of the order was so nice and professional about it. We paid with the voucher we got in the e-mail. There was a problem so he got the manager. She remembered our talk on the phone and swiftly helped us. The voucher was unfortunately pulling up as expired. She told us she would run it by to see what was going on. Everything was fine (or we thought it was) so we went home.
Now home we cut up our food to inspect it. One burger was cooked well just like we asked. The other one... not so much. It was unfortunate. We called up the store. We told a waitress and she got a manager. It was a different manager. We explained the situation. She gave us a new burger, rolls, and another voucher (a physical copy this time). They gave us a good tip. It was: "If this happens especially twice call ahead and talk to the manager personally. They will help you get the order right". It was a nice tip and it helped for this THIRD time.
It is just unfortunate that we had to go through the managers just to get something done and to get the right order. I see other complaints and reviews and orders on here. Instead of the person in charge of replying to these to just give more details on the Texas Roadhouse website. Please please please just do something about this instead of hitting copy paste. We have already complained physically and virtually. The problem has NOT been solved. I hope this helps put the problem into...
Read moreMy mother recently celebrated her 86th birthday, and our family gathered together with her at the OKC North location. 16 family members. Texas Roadhouse has been my mother's favorite restaurant for many years.
Now I just have 1 negative comment about the seating. This is not the best place for a large family to sit at 1 table. Unless everyone does not mind sitting in the Bar. For many of our family members, anything to do with the Bar is out of the question.
I hoped to be able to get seating with out waiting for nearly an hour. But this is a popular place. And calling ahead to be put on the waiting list definitely didn't help.
Everything one of our family likes Texas Roadhouse, and no one had anything negative to say about it. Except for the idea of calling ahead and then having to wait for as long as we did.
My mother was extremely happy being able to go to TRH. The staff was great, our server was very good and on top of keeping everyone's drinks refilled. The manager came by a couple of times, and she was very kind and helpful with making our visit great.
My prime rib was perfect. But the horse radish suase was very mild in flavor. My mother is allergic to pepper. It makes her tongue swell. The Texas Roadhouse kitchen staff made her meal without pepper. That's a huge win! Anytime a restaurant is able and willing to prepare food and accommodate a guest with allergies. That's a win-win!
Here's another great example of how things should be. In today's society, tipped employees and managers have the need to go back to school. And relearn the definition as well as the meaning of the word "Gratuity" and stop taxing people.
A Gratuity according to Noah Webster and other dictionaries, is a gift given freely. But people in the service industry act like they are owed something whether or not they truly earned it.
Our family appreciated that we weren't taxed for sitting together as a large group. There were 5 different households, and each paid for their own orders.
Because the service was excellent and our server was able to get everything right the 1st time. Every family happily gave the server at least 20% tip.
We are not going to ever add anything to the server if they are not on top of the needs and wants of the customer.
We don't believe or support being TAXED and the establishment calling it a Gratuity. Taxing is the governments job. And everyone hates being taxed on top of being taxed!
I worked in the service industry. I earned a living performing and striving to provide the best service that could be provided each night I worked. If you want a good tip you have to earn it!
Thank you to everyone at The north OKC Texas Roadhouse for providing the best service!!
The food was great and the environment was great!
We may not gather there with so many people at once. But we all will definitely return again.
I recommend the fried onion and the fried Pickles. I prefer to dip things in Chunky Blue Cheese. Yumm!!
My neice was back visiting from Croatia, where she is a missionary. She enjoyed the day with her Grammy and brought her to this restaurant. She really liked her dinner.
Texas Roadhouse has lots of good choices on their menu. We wish they opened before 4 p.m....
