S. T. Kluh Jewelers — Local services in Olympia

Very disappointed. I went to Kluh’s Jewelers in Olympia because they have been around for many years and have good reviews, but the quality of work that was done on my ring was so poor and they will not repair it. I brought my wedding ring in to have diamonds added for my 25th wedding anniversary. After I picked it up, I noticed that the entire setting was crooked so I brought it back. The owner himself said if he had seen it when it came back from their jeweler he would have never let it leave the store. He was clearly not happy with the work the jeweler had done. I picked it up again and a couple weeks later one of the diamonds fell out so I brought it back. Six months later the ring broke where the jeweler had soldered it together so I brought it back again. They will not repair it because they said I must have hit it on something and women hit their rings all the time and don’t realize it. I do not disagree, but I have never had a ring break apart just from hitting it on something. I have never had a ring break at all. I take care of my rings, I don’t wear them around the house and I don’t even wear this ring very often because I work from home. It broke because the work was poorly done. This entire experience has been horrible and they won’t repair their own work so I’m left with a damaged wedding ring. It’s not what I would have expected from this...

My family and I are avid jewelry collectors and have recently moved to Olympia. We were in need of a local jeweler and were hopeful when we discovered S.T. Kluh Jewelers. We even purchased a piece on our first visit to the store. Prior to Christmas I dropped off a piece to be adjusted as they prize themselves on jewelry repair. No price was ever disclosed, but in my previous encounters with jewelers it was never unreasonable. I was also okay with waiting 1.5 weeks for the piece to be completed which is longer than usual, but it’s Christmas so I understand. When I went to pick up the piece I was told it cost HALF the price of the actual piece to adjust it to fit ONE size larger. When I questioned the woman working there she claimed she stated the price at the drop off. LIE! To make matters worse she was disrespectful and unprofessional when she decided to insinuate that I was being cheap! To quote: “Things must be cheaper in Florida”. Clearly she’s never been to Naples Fl. I honestly feel cheated and insulted. If you’re in the market for jewelry repair look somewhere else. Research like I should have instead of having blind faith. S.T. Kluh Jewelers clearly do not care about...

Bought my wife a new wedding ring for Christmas from these folks and am very satisfied with the transaction. She opened it and liked the one I picked out but when she was leaving to take it in and get it sized I suggested she take a tennis bracelet that has been sitting on the shelf for a while and see what it's worth. Well, she didn't come home with the ring I picked out but she came home with a sweet smile and that was enough for me. Great service and didn't rush me or make me feel I needed to spend more.
