Sorry I'm Advance For This Long Negative Review!?!
Super ignorant store!!!! You may think ignorance seems too cruel of a term to use here but if you look up the definition rn you'll see why I chose that word to describe this joint... All parties including ownership very openly just do not care about their customers or the WA tax and EBT law and they are known to be this way for years now.
I recommend only going here if you're super rushed for time or you're already gonna be late to work, school, etc. 🤯
Think I'm lying or being cruel? Well, I will describe a couple/few negative events which occurred to us during regretful shopping trips here lately. Prior to these negative events we had boycotted SK Market for almost 5 years until just recently that is...
Their prices are rarely posted on the shelf for any item. What does this mean for your food and beverage bill?!? You shouldn't be surprised when any of the items you purchase randomly change prices each time you shop here. a. During our most recent stop we bought a can of cranberry sauce (yup the Thanksgiving kind, a small pepperoni jerky and some salted peanuts. b. The cranberries were manually entered as $5.99, the jerky was manually entered as $3.99 (it was the size of the small Slim Jim for reference), and the salted peanuts were manually entered as $2.99 (despite a manufacturers marking we should have been charged 2 for $1.69. ALL ITEMS RANG IN AS "OPEN GROCERY" ON THEIR iPad WITH NO DOCUMENTED REASON FOR SAID CHANGE!?! c. To make matters worse, THEY CHARGED US SALES TAX ON ALL 3 GROCERY ITEMS WHICH IS VERY ILLEGAL!?! d. I attempted to buy a White Claw which was listed at $3.49 but the guy tried to charge me $3.99 plus some greater than our city sales tax. My math calculated they were charging 15% sales tax. I even showed the guy the price of my drink in the cooler and all he said was "they must have changed it" but then charged the wrong price again with the incorrect sales tax again. e. When I attempted to break the math down to him he finally said "JUST LEAVE" and kicked my wife and I out of the store. WTH...WE WERE ASKED TO LEAVE AFTER DOING NOTHING MORE THEN ATTEMPTING TO BE CHARGED CORRECT PRICES!?!
They also love to watch your every move like they've got anything there worth stealing... But really only the brown and/or poor customers (EBT) seem negatively impacted by this blatant prejudicial practice...
Last week, with a totally different employee, my already purchased White Claw popped and immediately began spraying all over the place. I quickly yanked it out but the cashier snatched it outta my hand and tried to shove it back into our shopping bag while it was still spewing alcohol. I asked for a replacement drink so I could leave but instead he told me to "just go get a cup and pour it in there then leave." I REMINDED HIM THAT DOING AS HE REQUESTED WAS AGAINST THE LAW BY PUTTING AN ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE INTO A CUP AND WALKING OUT INTO THE PUBLIC WAS AGAIN NOT LEGAL!?!
Just a really, really awful store whose ownership enjoys taking advantage of those who really cannot afford to overpay for simple everyday snacks and necessities.
Also, if you're going to do business like this for so many years in downtown Olympia...you probably should learn sales tax rates and the laws around running a business here...
SHAME ON SK MARKET!?!
THE DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE AND DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL AND HEALTH SERVICES NEED TO SHUT THIS BUSINESS FOR THEIR FRAUDULENT DEALINGS WITH INCORRECTLY CHARGING FOLKS WHATEVER THEY...
Read moreThey stole my food stamps I got 1 of coke for 102.26 dollars like what the hell it’s not the first time my boyfriend has had it happen to him as well I’m in the process of reporting them to the authorities and have given a written complaint to Dshs as well as the police department. And that’s just with food stamps they out right take your money depending on how competent you are at the time I have seen them charge people different prices for the same thing and actually take a woman’s money who was special needs ! Do not do there!! They need to be stopped but most of the people who go there are addicts or people who are marginalized and not taken seriously that’s why they continue...
Read moreOverpriced and unreasonable. They have no sympathy for accidents. My husband slipped on their floor and a product package was damaged but the product was not open/ruined but they made him buy it. They had only one wet floor sign for the whole store being wet. That is a poor warning of the danger. I have never been in a store big or small that has not understood an accident especially because it's their fault for not properly warning of a wet floor. This is not the first time they have been so awful and I will...
