I usually only went there to get higher priced MTG singles. Spent a lot of money at that store. On too many occasions, I would ask to see their Near Mint or Lightly played priced singles in their display case, only to discover creases, bends, water damage, deep scratches or other issues with the card that would lower the condition to Heavily Played or Damaged. One time, I discovered a $80 card in their case was a fake. When I came back a month later, the fake card was back in the display case for $60. Just carelessness really. I'm not convinced they even know how to authenticate MTG cards, especially when I'm showing the employees how to do it. I'm convinced someone who doesn't know any better, either has or will get ripped off due to their poor grading/inspection practices. I would hope their QC process is better for Pokemon or the sports card stuff. I don't know though. Most interactions with the employees are meh, I say most, because I have had great customer experience with one employee, every time I've dealt with them, but that's it. The last straw was them trying to gouge me on a trade. Just felt icky. Buyer, beware. Also, I was sick of being called "boss"...
Read moreWhen I arrived at the store I came across an employee that was very passionate about Pokémon and was excited to come across another trainer. My first time in the store I couldn’t truly take it all in. The store is super clean and wall to wall products from sports, board games, wall art, cards for sale, character stuffed plushies etc. Danielle walked me through the ins and outs of sleeves to product my cards and what each sleeve has to offer. Felt like I was talking to a true professional. Haven’t bought Pokémon cards since 1998 so all the new stuff was foreign to me. She explained each product and what’s good and bad about them and wanted me to make an informed decision of what was best for me. That to me is why I will continue to come to the store when she’s on staff. She introduced me to a Pokémon league the store hosts every Sunday. Since going I have got to be part of many battles, learning, and socializing all in the name of Pokémon. Products are priced at market, no big savings but I will return for the environment more than the product. This store does need more staff that are actively involved while on the clock or more staff. Seems only 1 person...
Read moreThis place is not just sports cards!!! I hadn't visited since it opened because I always assumed it was just abseball/basketball/football cards, but that is wrong! They also have Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokemon, and Magic: the Gathering. They have bulk boxes for those three, which is amazing because the other game store in town doesn't have any bulk for sale. It's always fun to just sit there and flip through the boxes. In fact, when I went to the counter with my stack of cards, which were priced at $0.25 each, the employee decided to only charge me $0.10 each! They are stocked up on products, new and old, and one of the most useful things I discovered is that they sell Dragonshield sleeves for like $2-3 less than any other store I've been to, which is very helpful because I can't stop building Commander decks. The staff seem like they're just having fun doing their job, and I don't blame them, I would too. Overall an awesome store, stop...
