Kohl's has consistently been my "go-to" for everything from professional & casual attire to home decor, for more than 12 years...many of them as a military spouse...however, my experience at the Kohl's in Onalaska-Lacrosse, WI has forced me to reevaluate, not only, my opinion of the company's standards but also the strong sense of loyalty I've felt towards the brand.
Comforted knowing, that no matter where we were transferred, one thing I could count on was the convenience and consistency of Kohl's. Each location always had a friendly & knowledgeable staff; clean, orderly & clearly marked sections; a diverse and extensive selection of clearly priced & properly displayed merchandise...even the Clearance areas were organized, easy to identify and navigate (anyone who's ever attempted to find, much less navigate an unruly clearance area can appreciate my POV).
I recently moved to a small town, approximately, 40 minutes from the Onalaska-Lacrosse Kohl's and was excited at the prospect of a shopping trip to Kohl's, after several months of small-town living with limited retail options . Imagine how disappointed when those hopes were dashed by simply walking through the front door...
In a word: CHAOS
After a quick assessment and fighting the urge to turn around and walk out, I decided to set aside my initial reaction by rationalizing one messy section,by the front door, didn't necessarily mean the entire location was wrecked..right??? WRONG!!
To say the entire "floor" was a mess, would be kind. I was on the "floor" attempting to shop, for over an hour, without encountering one member of the sales staff and/or management team. Yes, I did require assistance and, at different times, had questions only a staff/team member could've answered ..but no assistance was to be found.
The one bright spot of the experience was the Customer Service/Cashier who handled the checkout process. She was kind, courteous, offered several options available to receive up to 30% off of the entire purchase (including signing up for a Kohl's credit card). Her name wasn't clearly displayed and wasn't on the receipt, but I'd still like say KUDOS to her! They need...
Read moreSo glad for those who love Kohlâs and find great deals and have a great shopping experience. I went a couple years ago and swore I would never go back. This morning I went back. And I am again swearing I will never go back.
90 minutes in store. 60 minutes to hunt down the ONE associate in sight to help. I needed items in 4 departments And finally found one very helpful associate in one department after an hour. Even she acknowledged what a mess the racks were and how difficult it was to find correct sizes Shirts mixed in with pants, hanging in the wrong places randomly. Sizes all out of order. Iâve seen more organization at Dollar Tree. Customer Service, there was no âhi! May I help you? Did you find what you needed? Have a good day, etc.â I told them what an awful time I had and they didnât even respond. Not a single word I called the store manager (as itâs impossible to give feedback online) who was very nice and was told that in the mornings almost all of the associates are required to unload the truck. So unloading the truck is more important than having associates on the floor to help customers. I got the same tired story about canât find anyone to work, being shortstaffed, corporate wonât listen. Thatâs become a...
Read moreKohl's is...was one of my stores for clothing. Good selection and good prices. But it seems recently, what little service they had is gone. At one point we had to deal with an argumentative âcashier pushing the Kohl's credit card on us. WE DIDN'T WANT ONE. After three times she finally relented with eyes rolling and a heavy sigh. Seriously?!? The most recent incident happened today. My eldest son went to pick out a suit, shirt, etc. with his girlfriend for a formal event. They got what they wanted and left it all for my wife to pay for and pick up. She did so and came home (a 20+ minute drive for our home). When my son got ready to dress for the event he discovered the security tag was still attached to the slacks. Again, someone at Kohl's not doing their job! It is NOT the responsibility of the customer to keep track of these items...we are paying YOU! My son is now on his way back to Kohl's with the receipt to have the security tag removed. All I can say is it had better be a smooth and professional process for him. If it isn't handled properly, I, as a consumer, will do everything I can to make certain no one I know shops at this store again. Any chance we can get reimbursed for the gas to make an...
