I usually have very little issues with this FYE. It’s a nice place, very clean and well kept, and always has what I’m looking for.
On my most recent visit however, I was asked if I wanted to “become a member.” I like the store, so I said I would and gave her my information. When it came time to process payment, the pin-pad made mention of me signing up for a Time magazine subscription, which is NOT something I had agreed to.
I asked my cashier what it was, and all she said back to me was “you’ll just call and have them cancel it once the free period is up.” I did not want a magazine subscription (that auto renews), and I made that clear to her.
I said “I want to cancel the sign-up process, I don’t want any magazine subscription,” she canceled it out on my pin-pad and told me “I’ll let you keep the discount for signing up, but I’ll make it so you don’t get any magazine.” The consent form for TIME came back up on the pin-pad, I mentioned to her again that I don’t want any TIME magazine subscription. She assured me that It wasn’t going to give me a subscription and that the pin-pad had to say that because of the discount for joining rewards. I get home, look at my receipt and it says I have an auto-renewing subscription to TIME magazine now and have to call and have it cancelled.
This is slimy, unprofessional, and makes me trust FYE as a company MUCH less. Teach your employees to SELL to your customers, not try...
Read moreI forgot this store existed. It’s weird seeing it be anything but a music store these days though. I went in yesterday and I’ll say the staffing just wasn’t there. It was one girl by herself tryna do everything but it was just too busy. This older lady even cursed her out for being understaffed and having to wait too long (because someone beeped going out the door so she halted the line to check and she actually stopped someone from stealing a figure surprisingly) and I felt bad because the poor employee apologized to the lady screaming at her like it was nothing. Now they definitely should have had more people there on a Saturday especially by around 5pm (which is around the time I went) but she still made it work and rang me out with a smile on her face. I even signed up for a VIP because I could tell she was overwhelmed since she said she been there by herself since open which is basically her entire shift. She said she’s the store manager so she must be used to it but I could never work in a mall that busy by myself without crying or losing my cool. Maybe get some more staff though so y'all don’t keep stressing that...
Read moreBought multiple CDs that ended up having damaged cases. Not surprising since they're all crammed haphazardly in some bin. They say you can return or exchange them, but you'd be much better off buying elswhere than doing that almost every single time you get anything. Also got a record that had a damaged cover (some genius put a sticky sensor tag right on the cover instead of the plastic cover over it) that they offered nothing, no return, in store credit, nothing. Not to mention the records are a complete mess, and the associates admitted to my face they gave up on sorting them. If you want music, save yourself the time and trouble, find...
