I booked this company for my makeup services for my wedding day. Had great interaction with the ladies prior to booking. I wanted the airbrush type makeup because I have oily skin. I was informed that the airbrush makeup would last longer and stay beautiful through my entire 6hr event on a yacht in Tampa, FL with the heat and humidity. Taking the plunge, I decided to give it a go for my first experience with airbrush makeup. Big mistake! Well, my makeup artist was a tad bit late to the hotel room, she got lost. I started calling the company, two separate phone calls and going to voicemail. They finally called me back and told me that she was on her way. Not to worry. Moments later, she was knocking at the hotel door. We lost a bit of time with that, but wasn’t a big deal. She set up in no time and was ready to go within a few minutes. She properly moisturized my face after I washed it and started the process. It was seamless, and honestly quick. The airbrush process felt like a soft breeze blowing on your skin, not uncomfortable at all. My makeup was finally finished and it was time for the strip lashes to be applied. She forgot the case in the car for the lashes. None the less, she did go back down to valet and got the case. I didn’t look at my makeup as I wanted the “full” look to be complete before I viewed. She applied the strip lashes and informed me about the touch up kit that I was going to get for free to use throughout the night. Unfortunately, this kit was supposed to have the lip color that I used on my lips, but the case was empty. It did have a small blotting sponge and setting powder. No need for those though. Finally, I looked at my makeup and initially I liked it. Looked natural, looked matte, looked good. As minutes went by I noticed that it started oxidizing. Not to a darker color, but more to an ashy color on my skin. I went to use the blotting sponge and realized that some areas of my face was so cakey, like it was totally layered on. Around my nostrils, in between my eyes, forehead and cheeks. I was soooo disappointed, but I wasn’t going to let that stop me and my day. Moving onto the ceremony, I got through that and decided to check to see if my makeup was still on point. Boy oh boy…I almost cried! There were patches on my face where the makeup was supposed to be and it wasn’t there. It was awful. Absolutely awful. Luckily, I found some concealer in the bridal suite and used that to do some patch work on myself. I had to replace makeup on my forehead, cheeks, under my eyes (I shed some tears and the eyeliner was under my eyes and cheek) and around the eyebrows to make um much more defined. I felt like my entire face slid off without me knowing. I kid you not, I wasn’t touching my face or anything because I didn’t want to get the makeup on my ivory wedding dress. After it was all said and done, I made it through the day. The photographs were done, I sure do hope I don’t have that white mask of makeup in any of the professional photos. Or if I do, he can make it look skin like and not like a ghost. I’ve added some photos below to show what I’m referring to. I will NOT use this company again for anything. I paid over $600 for my wedding makeup and was 100% disappointed. I should have stuck with traditional...
Read moreI had a wonderful experience with Supreme Makeup and Hair Designs! I started doing research a few months prior to the wedding because I was going to be coming to Florida from California.
Since the moment communication began, Sakeenah, (Creative Director) was very professional and helpful. She scheduled a call with me to go over what the services would look like. Everything sounded great and I moved forward to sign a contract/retainer over email with Lisa (Coordinator). Additionally, I liked that the payments (2 installments) can be done online and that a tip was included.
The team was also able to work around a schedule change that occurred a few weeks prior to the wedding. The day of the wedding, Shanique (Makeup Artist) and Khayree (Hair Stylist) arrived on time and quickly set up to get me ready for the wedding. Shanique found some makeup inspiration that would go perfect with my mustard-yellow Indian gown. Khayree also found some different styles that would look great for my hair type. My makeup and hair lasted through the wedding which started at 2:30 p.m. and ended late in the evening.
Overall, I would highly recommend Supreme Makeup and Hair Designs for your hair and makeup needs. The staff is talented, professional, friendly, and...
Read moreSakeenah did a beautiful job with my makeup and was kind and patient. She did my makeup/hair for my wedding and my only suggestion for improvement is with the hair.
When I did my trial, she took pictures, and I thought these would be used to refresh her memory on the final desired product when the big day came. We were running rather late, which was not her fault, but some extra time was spent curling my bangs the wrong way. I was confused about why she was doing this, and pulled up the pictures from before to show her how we curled them before. Again, not her fault that we were running late, but it became evident she hadn't reviewed the photos from before, and I think this would be a good practice moving forward as it could have saved some time when we were already in the red.
Edit: I've reduced my rating to two stars because the company wants to blame me taking five minutes to eat for being late. Very disappointed in this response since I was very fair...
