I've been in store twice. Both times eating in were great. The people working are extremely helpful and have great recommendations, amazing attitudes, and friendly every time I have came in. The food was good for the most part. I was happy to see Orlando has a macro / healthy food option. The protein coffee was great, the turkey burnt end cuban flat bread was amazing, and the peanut butter dip with the apples were also tasty. I tried the white and dark chocolate buckeyes and they were amazing. Along with the energy ball snacks.
Here's the turning point to why I will never return, and im leaving this review not to bash the establishment, but as a buyer beware... I bought to go food after having lunch here (like $60 worth of food to go), and took home 5-6 meals to try during the week. These meals are frozen near the checkout counter. In the evening after having lunch I ate the lobster mac when I got home in the evening after lunch and got VERY sick within hours of eating. This food caused me to throw up for multiple hours. Mind you, I only ate in store before this as well, and I can count on one hand how many times I've gotten sick from food between 7 years active duty military service, growing up working on farms, to being 30+ years old. I have zero allergies, eat seafood often, and cannot think of one reason or thing i could have done differently to avoid this. I literally have an iron stomach compared to most people. So, the next morning I see the package I purchased expired 7 months ago. So I'm thinking wow I wish I had checked. I called the store to inform them they're selling 7 month old expired food from their small selection of fridges. Speaking with the manager he said no, those are just misprinted labels, and the lobster was probably bad meat. He did say they will check the other meats (no clue how you check frozen meat if it's good or bad, but whatever, I'm not an expert here). Kudos for the acknowledgement and professionalism from the manager and staff also, you guys have a great team. The manager offered for me to come back in and chance another one (no way). I politely declined, just calling to let them know they're selling food that made me sick, expired (misprint labels apparently, or bad meat).
Anyways bottom line - the foods pretty good for a healthy lunch but by zero means is it acceptable to sell food that is expired or knowingly mislabeled, or to sell food that gets people sick. I don't wish the experience I had on anyone. I hope whatever bad meat they're selling is resolved for the rest of anyone willing to try this.
I hope you guys find this review helpful, and be mindful of what you're eating from here. Check your food expiration date and if it tastes remotely funky, throw it out....
Read moreCertain meals are quite good, others are not so great. I pretty much only like certain proteins they offer and the whole wheats pastas are good. But I’m concerned the ingredients are processed. I don’t think they disclose clearly the processing levels of the different components of the meals.
Staff super nice, but the franchisor requires you to use an app that’s not easy to use. I’m not a fan of having to go through an app just to redeem points I’ve earned. It’s inconvenient and obtrusive. These are pre-made meals, Clean Eatz doesn’t need to try and track me and spam me with marketing emails. I know it’s what big companies try to do, but CE isn’t so big (think Amazon) that I can’t live without their hassles. That’s something to keep in mind. Do you really want to put barriers up between your customers and their ability to spend money in your stores?
The store is modern, new and clean. No issues with atmosphere.
Unfortunately, it does not appear that I will be able to continue to frequent this establishment. They changed apps, and they want you to login and give all of your personal information again and sign your life away again. It’s not that deep, I’m just trying to buy a box of chicken and noodles. You don’t need my life story.
I know the owner is working hard at this store. I hope the franchisor doesn’t scare away the rest of their customers. Good...
Read moreThis is my favorite CleanEatz location to go to, and here’s why.
Every time I come to this location, I am greeted with a smile and a welcome, I am always able to find new meals in the freezer and they always have everything in stock. All the workers here are extremely approachable, friendly and personable. The people alone make the trip here the best part. This location is not the closest or most convenient for me, but because of the people and the experience, I make the trip.
Today, I was able to speak with April. What a sweet person. She was able to help me not only decide on the meals that I wanted for the day, but she also helped me decide on future meals as well. Unaware of the meal program, she informed me about it. This is definitely something that I would benefit from and prefer. She informed me what it was about and I easily realized that was the best option for me. This was the highlight of my day, being able to talk to April. Thank you, April. Thank you, CleanEatz staff. I look forward to coming...
