Went to Oroville California location at 8pm tonight ( august 7)
Needed life saving medicine for chickens urgently. Male Manager told me that putting a phone number would “crash his system because it did earlier”. I explained to him it was life or death and I’m sorry that happened earlier but I need this life saving medicine. The store was completely empty so it wouldn’t have held up customers.
He refused to even attempt. He refused to figure out a solution. The cashier was even begging him to help. She said to try self checkout. I did even though manager kept telling me to stop. When it got to the part for him to enter his ID he canceled the transaction and refused to attempt it.
He Told me to go somewhere else (no where else has this medicine especially this late. Even the closest tractor supply is to far to make it before closing. I explained nicely it was life or death for 100 animals and he was very rude and told me he isn’t going to attempt it on the off chance it would “crash his system” I kept begged him to just try even if it did crash the system once earlier since there was nobody there and it wouldn’t matter as they were about to close and nobody would be affected and it was animal welfare were talking about. It would be a minor inconvenience for him to reboot a system. Lives can’t be rebooted.
He refused and told me he doesn’t want to deal with it, I begged, I offered to leave money and have them ring it up tomorrow, I offered to pay cash, I offered just about every solution possible and he just rudely pushed me out of the store and said he didn’t have time to deal with it. Manger override, anything. Even the cashier was in shock. An employee walked me out and apologized for his actions and said he could have done something. The employee said he would have given it to me if it didn’t risk his job.
I spend tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands here over the years. I depend on this store. This was life or death for 100 animals. There is something he could have done. He just refused because he couldn’t be bothered. Even if it meant the death of my animals and me begging and pleading. I even got him on video refusing to attempt the transaction.
There was zero people in the store but me. It wouldn’t have held anyone up. It wouldn’t have affected Anyone else’s transaction. Just because it happened once earlier in the day where the system crashed when he tried to enter a phone number. Wasn’t let anyone enter numbers in. Watched him tell 3 people to basically get lost after they protested not being able to use their # or buy medicines / anything that requires employee approval. All because of a single crash that happened many hours ago.
I told him I was complaining and he said “good go for it. I don’t care, im not risking crashing my system.” I said “even for life or death and animal welfare you aren’t willing to at least try to figure out a solution?” He pushed me out of the store.
Im so unbelievably upset. I am debating just going in and taking the item myself and leaving cash on the counter. However I don’t want a criminal record. He said Even if I payed he would entrap me and have me arrested because he refuses to try and ring it up.
I used to love this store and support it so much. This experience has made me dislike it beyond wanting to ever come back. There is no resolution that will fix my problem. I have suffering dying animals who need a life saving coccidia medicine off the shelf (not even locked up).
This is unforgivable. There is something he could have done or made an exception for. At the very least he could have tried even if it was a potential risk to crash the system for a few mins. ESPECIALLY considering the store was / still is empty as I write this and about to close. This is wrong on every level.
I know for a fact if it was the elderly lady manager she would have done something. They treat me like family as they know how much I shop there. This guy treated me like I was some sucker off the street who was just wasting his time....
Read moreI am highly, extremely, severely, supremely, nearly ligatorily dissatisfied with my visit to the Rabies Clinic that this establishment hosts on Saturdays from 1 o'clock to half past 2. Let us be clear, if I were a less moral, and more vengeful person, I would be searching for a lawyer as we speak. But it's done; we're home and safe, more or less in one piece, and the only ones at fault were the... nimrods... that thought they were above the law. Settle in, friend, and let me tell you the tale of a large woman, an old woman, their poor puppers, and the four slavering and unrestrained beasts that made their day go south, fast. Picture the scene, if you will. A large woman repairs to her vehicle to retrieve her mother's nine month old, bull mastiff puppy to receive his rabies shot. As that same large woman (me) crosses the street in front if the clinic, all hell breaks loose. Out of nowhere, this fat (but quick as a snake), russet colored Rottweiler appears, unrestrained, to attack the poor brindle hound and his current mistress. That same large woman begins to boot that animal in the ribs, as hard she can, to defend her poor puppers (who was doing his best to stay away from those saber teeth), and then was promptly pulled off her feet by the terrified animal. Landing semi-prostrate, with her legs warped under her, all she could holler was 'I CANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS; RECOVER YOUR ANIMALS!!!' I had my poor puppy's leash grasped tight in a death grip, keeping him close, so that I could offer some meager protection to his flanks and belly, against those seemingly gigantic teeth of the attacker. It felt like minutes instead of seconds until my 64 year old, fibromyalgic mother appeared in an attempt to help protect me from the animals (just as suddenly numbering four, from the original instigator); all I could do in that space of time was tuck my chin into my collarbone, close my eyes, and turn away to protect my vulnerable throat from that gleaming, awful death. Out of the corner of my left eye, I saw our dog's leash wrap my mother's ankles, and I could only watch in helpless horror as her feet were swept from beneath her, causing her to land squarely on her left side (thanks the gods diffusing the impact across her entire side, instead of hip or shoulder). After that, those animals were corralled and separated, gods love the pure idiots who had them unsecured. When all involved were secure, I came roaring up off the ground at the unwitting spectators, informing them as to my mother's age and disabled status, saying as a final, verbal snarl, 'CONTROL YOUR ANIMALS!!!' I think I made a pretty indelible mark on them, or at least, I hope I did. LET ME BE CLEAR. IF MY MOTHER HAD BEEN DAMAGED BY THIS INCIDENT, IN DEFENSE OF HER DAUGHTER AND FUR BABY, IN CLEAR VIEW AND REACH OF THE ATTENDANTS (indeed, the whole crowd), WE WOULD NOT BE HAVING THIS DISCUSSION. THE NEXT WORDS SPOKEN FROM ME TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT AND CLINIC WOULD HAVE BEEN CARRIED IN A PACKET BY A LAWYER. But. She didn't. She walked (limped) away, as did I. And that is what is staying my hand. I could have died. She could have broken her back. But Fortuna smiled, and we escaped unscathed, for the most part. Please. Use this as a learning experience. We were okay, and we even received an apology from the main (idiotic) instigator; however, someone could have been severely injured, even unto death. Train all of the Saturday clinic attendants on how to respond in a high pressure environment. I don't blame them; just because I can (mostly, kind of) keep my head in such a situation does not mean everyone can. Train those attendants on action until it's muscle memory. Drill them on response time reduction. Show them how to tackle an aggressive dog, for gods'...
Read moreBEWARE if you go to the Oroville Tractor Supply and use the dog wash station. On their Tractor Supply website it says to use the dog wash station and then pay when you are done. We went into the store and even talked with an associate about the dog wash station and she never mentioned having to pay first. I proceed to wash my dog and I am in the middle of drying him and an associate by the name of Kent stopped by and was harassing me and kept asking if I paid first. I let him know that the Tractor Supply website says that you wash your dog first and then pay when done. He kept harassing me while I’m drying my dog saying I need to go pay now. I let him know that I am in the middle of something with a wet dog and he said well you need to go pay right now. Luckily I had someone with me that was able to go up and pay. They have no sign anywhere saying that you need to pay first and none of the employees at the front stated that you have to pay first. The dog wash station is new and already one of the stations does not work. And I was not even able to brush my dog because the employees obviously do not clean the stations because there was dog hair all over and in the brushes available to use. So just keep in mind if you go to use the dog washing station, make sure to pay first or you will be harassed. And watch out for Kent because he is the one who will harass you. He was absolutely rude. I will be leaving a review online for Tractor Supply and I will be contacting corporate about this incident. Company website clearly...
