I went to Ross this morning. I was planning on buying my dog a toy (he LOVES to go in and pick toys himself!! Adorbs!!) I parked in the parking lot for around 3 minutes. I was looking at something that popped up on my phone. Photos of my dog actually... so the thing is, I drive a travel van. I'm a Full-Time "Van-Life" traveler for the last 8 years. Well I decided they will NOT be receiving a dime from me, ever again, when I heard the intercom beginning to speak from the Ross. It was unbelievably Orwellian. So the speaker said, on repeat, back to back to back with no breaks in between: "VACATE THE PREMESIS. WE DO NOT ALLOW LOITERING AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT. YOU NEED TO LEAVE NOW. VACATE THE PREMESIS. WE WILL CONTACT THE AUTHORITIES. VACATE THE PREMESIS NOWWW.....VACATE THE PREMESIS....etc." on repeat. BUT they didn't stop there, when I moved my van, after about 1 iteration of this recording having been turned on ONLY when I was there. And NOT when I got off the boundaries of their property. I am now shopping at the neighboring store, and there is zero recording going off now that they believe I have left. (And I'm about to go back over there and time them to see how long it takes them to notice me there and turn it back on...and record it to post here so you can see how Orwellian and how absurd it is to give someone less than 3 minutes to get out of their vehicle to go shopping. NOT only did they immediately try to run me off the property threatening to call the authorities for my very existence, but absolutely NO ONE, NOT one single solitary person, approached me and asked me if I were preparing to shop or "if not ma'am, we don't allow loitering here, if you could please go elsewhere..." oh no no no...not one single person actually talked to me. And even further still, they left the speaker blaring at me the whole time I was driving past the store front as well. So, I looked up the property records, and I parked in the parking lot area closest to their store, that this property owning company "Rhino Holdings Oroville LLC" doesn't own. And I waited and listened and they turned off the recording. Knowing they had no power where I was parked. So I know they were only there sitting in the office, watching the camera, and turning on/off this threatening recording.
Not only will I NOT be giving them a single dime of my money today, but in the future, when I need something, I will gladly be going to TJ Maxxipad instead. From here on out. And I used to go to Ross quite often. But TJ Maxx has dog toys too. Good job management. Well done. Do you want a gold star?? Here you go, here's your gold star âď¸! Now, do you think that was worth it? For your gold star? For not even giving me enough time to get out of my vehicle before you see me, make WILD INSANE assumptions, then not only that, but you chose to ACT on your ASSUMPTIONS with absolutely ZERO facts or real information on your mind, and then you lost a well paying customer with...
Read moreI am very happy to see Ross come to our town. I prefer the clothes over Marshalls. I gave this store 2 stars because I shopped Ross on a Sunday. The store was clean and I found what I needed. I went to the back of the store to look for home goods. I witnessed a young employee pushing a metal shelf basically make a customer move for her. I looked at the poor customer speachless but did say Wow! The lady looked at me and agreed. Still stunned, I went up front to pay, there was a line of 2 other people and myself, the wait was long due to one employee having a long conversation about how she didn't want to work there anymore. I finally got to the cashier, she went thru 3 customers while the should be unemployeed girl was gossiping to a green haired customer while she was bragging that she just got a job at Feather Falls, boy she has a wake up call. Anyway, the girl that waited on me was unbelievably rude, I was trying to make my check out pleasant and this one was just as miserable as the girl working on the warehouse at the back of the store. I know that it is VERY HARD to find good help, but there has to be some young people that would love to work at this store other than the mean girls working there now... Unbelievably miserable attitudes. No customer should be treated...
Read moreI went into Ross in Oroville, CA. I found a solar flower in a box, but I wanted to see the flower before purchase. I asked a clerk standing by if I could open it to see the flower. The clerk went into a spiel how I can't open it, manager must give permission, PEOPLE STEAL FROM US! I said "I'm not going to steal it." She then started arguing with me as to why it can't be opened. Manager stood there and opened it, she continued to rail on with the manager about WHY she wouldn't open the box for me. Ross, I know you can't train people to have common sense when dealing with customers. That clerk will find out the hard way in life, she's got a long ways to go. I left and won't be back. I...
