This is my daughterâs 3rd prom and my second child. Iâm not a newbie to this season. We drove quite a bit to get here and the selection was pretty good. However, we didn't have the best experience. I felt it was high pressure. Every time I went to talk to my daughter, the salesperson chimed in, telling her differently. Ex: my daughter wanted a slit in the dress and I told her from experience it cannot be done and the dress lay correctly. The young lady salesperson pipes in oh yesâŚ.. I can give you a list of people who can alter the dress. I flat out know that it cannot be done and you went and told my daughter that it can. I didnât get to talk to my daughter without the salesperson around. She didnât get what she came for and was talked into something that didnât look as perfect as it should. On my way home, I realized that itâs 45 minutes of sell, sell, sell any dress. There was no encouragement to give the dresses more thought and come back. I feel their philosophy is you get 45 minutes - pick one. I understand positive encouragement also, but even the managers walking around made it obvious that they compliment every dress on every person, when they werenât being honest. It was like a song on repeat. I finally gave in to the pressure and got the dress. The system wanted me to give a tip! I was so irritated by then, I couldnât get it to skip to no tip, so I offered the minimum 5%. Again, I should have walked away. I gave this many hours of thought post visit. My daughter called several hours before as she had been looking for a specific Sherri Hill prom dress. The woman who answered told her they had the dress and in two colors she was interested in! What she didn't say is that they only show dresses by appointment. We take a detour on our trip and when we show up are told "I'm sorry we only take appointments.
