If you are looking for an upscale looking coffee shop, then this is your stop, in downtown Overland Park!
The hot cocoa is ok & tasted better with the marshmallows & caramel drizzle. The best part was the fruity cheese danish. The buttery flaky bread combined with a blackberry (tasted like that but could’ve been something else) & cream cheese filling was delightful!! I was scraping the plate for more!
The cup had writing in it & the saucers had different colored patterns on them. Liked the little details!
The ambiance was pleasant. It was a full house that day so we sat at the bar. A lot of floor seating was taken so thankfully both sides of the bar had seating options & there is outdoor seating.
An enormous mirror played center stage on one wall with smaller framed art playing second fiddle. I really liked how you got your water. They had three options that pour out when you pull the handle, like you would for beer behind the bar. They had sparkling, chilled, & still. I was busy playing with it like a kid, as I poured my water!
Overall due to the cleanliness & staff friendliness as well as other options not served at the bar I would go back to try something else if...
Read moreCame in and the square system was down...Barista did absolutely nothing to serve myself or any of the other patrons that walked in, she was just like "welp, cant do anything until the system is back!"..Might have been nice to find other solutions other than losing money and making customers frustrated: 1) you could have taken orders by pen and paper and whoever has cash could pay with cash. 2) we could have used venmo to send the baristas money and they would pay back the coffee (writing it on pen and paper of course), or 3) you could have just eaten the cost of your system being down, and charged square for the amount of money lost by still keeping your customers happy.
The fact that the system went down was not upsetting, but it was the complete lack of a solution that was frustrating, and made it clear that whoever is managing these stores can improve their customer service in alot of ways by finding some way to make your...
Read moreThis location has been such a mixed bag, and unfortunately more negative than positive. My first visit was excellent, the ladies behind the bar were friendly and two of them that I recall, were very conscientious about their steaming and pouring. They both were excited to make a flat white at my request and did so admirably. Fast forward three visits later, each barista during my visits seemed less than enthusiastic about being there it seemed. Neither of them knew how to make a flat white, so I opted for a cortado. Each time, the cortado was two things, warm, and poured without any discernible technique to provide the proper layering and foam. Found this to be a shame as the location has really nice aesthetics and is comfortable. This shop falls well into the category of decent, being a good option if you are looking for something sugary or iced, but nothing that requires the barista to properly craft an espresso...
