BEWARE! if you play anything other then CARDS, something WotC hasn't been produced or owned, and are a female DM you probably will not be welcome to this location. My group and I have been coming religiously every other Saturday for months to play Pathfinder society, we've been moved around the location time and time again with nothing set in stone. Ive repeatedly asked that the game be publicized on the store Facebook page, as ive been posting and promoting the store myself with fliers, Warhorn, and posting events through paizo website.
What I was told was “ Pathfinder is currently free to play along with every other ttrpg at the store aslong as it is in the commons area. Having people do these things in the common space is distasteful to me and I would prefer not to promote anything until it’s more professionally done. DnD received the promotion of me just simply stating that it will be on thursday in brief so that people would stop messenging the store asking if it will be a thing” Also “ So DnD will be my main ttrpg I have a paid DM running it who is wpn guidelines and we will lean more into that as a store just for the sheer amount of volume that will create. That wont be starting on Thursday but will be more of an introductory on what we are planning to do. I’m not really trying to get any of these games going till I have the room next door set up posting about dnd is more to make my personal inbox stop being filled with questions about it”
I understand that DnD has a bigger cult following but if you can promote one regardless you can post another group that has been faithful about attending and bringing in more people . Also coming into the location on 8/16 I started my normal set up and chit chat with my group to begin playing, was informed by a PLAYER that we needed to sit in a different location, not a big deal we moved and adjusted tables due to the sheer number of players we were going to have, next thing I know I was being informed that due to new “rules” we had to play in designated area. I did ask that “in the future I be made aware of these things prior to game “ Don walked away and when came back stated that I hadn't spoken to him since the 19th, and that I was being aggressive and hostile towards him that Pathfinder was no longer welcome and that we needed to leave at once. To me this is disgusting actions of a owner, it is not my responsibility to ask if things have changed on a week to week basis , if things needed to be different or to change that is something that could have been stated before out arrival in a message or simply talking after the game. But to publicly try and humiliate me in front of a large group and people standing around the store was...
Read moreA nice enough place, if you have no other better options to game at. Otherwise I would not recommend. The owner seems like a nice person, but became very unprofessional with our Pathfinder 2E Society Group.
The owner had given us permission to run a by-weekly Saturday event, at no cost since we were using the "Open Area" and he did not own that space. We chose to play at the opposite end of the "Open Area", away from Crucible Games. Saturday is a popular day for Magic the Gathering and we did not want to compete with them for space or noise. We were told, by the owner, that this would be OK. Unfortunately this is where the owner stopped cooperating and become unprofessional.
The owner declined to advertise our Pathfinder 2E Society events, despite them being open to the public. When pressed for details, he said that he wasn't going to advertise any RPG games since he found it "distasteful" to run RPG games in the "Open Area" and was going to wait until he had a more professional space available for them to game in. Shortly after, the owner began to advertise for upcoming D&D 5E games. When we expressed frustration that he was willing to advertise D&D 5E, but not Pathfinder 2E, he claimed that he was not advertising the D&D 5E game. He claimed he was only responding to repeated inquiries about if a D&D 5E game was going to be run. The Owner then accused us of being "hostile" for being frustrated with these events.
Finally, on Saturday 8/16/25, with no forewarning and as our entire table was sat down to play, the Owner informed us that we couldn't game in that part of the "Open Area". He claimed that he was now being charged to use the "Open Area", that he only had access to a specific section, and needed us to game within that section. We expressed frustration at being told last minute. We asked that in the future he give us a heads up about these sorts of changes, since he had a direct line of communication with our Game Master who organized the events.
The Owner said he hadn't been in communication with the Game Master, accusing her of being "hostile". The Game Master responded that she was merely frustrated that he was willing to advertise for D&D 5E but not Pathfinder 2E. The Owner again accused us of be hostile and said on the spot that Crucible games would no longer support Pathfinder 2E Society and kicked the entire group out of the store.
Perhaps the entire series of events could have been handled differently, but they way the owner chose to handle things was very unprofessional and I will no longer be supporting his business as either an RPG player or MTG player.
edited to correct the date mentioned...
Read moreI am very disheartened by the way myself and others were treated this Saturday, 8/16.
We play(ed) Pathfinder Organized Play every other Saturday at Crucible. This evening, we had 9 people at the table (way bigger numbers than normal!) and we were getting set up to play. Not long after we all arrived the owner, Don, came out and asked us to move our table to a smaller table as they were getting charged for the space in the common room so he was trying to minimize extra space. No big deal, things happen. The issue arose, however, that he had not contacted the GM who was organizing the event. Thus, she was unaware of this change or when it had taken place. She asked if he could let her know about these things since everyone was ready to play and most everything had been set up. He then went on about how she had not responded to the message he had sent weeks prior (of which was rude and unprofessional), cited that the messages he had received from her were hostile and said that we were no longer welcome at the store. Many of us do not live in the area and traveled upwards of an hour and a half to come play at this store. For him to rudely and bluntly air out his grievances with the game master in front of 8 other people and possibly other bystanders was unacceptable and unprofessional.
This has not been the first instance of unprofessionalism from Don (the owner). We had asked to have our games publicized on the Facebook page, as he has for D&D and MtG. He refused, citing he found it “distasteful” to publicize the event since he didn’t have a space in store for us to play and we were in the common room as it seemed unprofessional to him. Mind you, D&D has not been ran at the store while Pathfinder has been played there since he took over the business. For someone who believes himself to be professional, his outburst in front of many people and his outright rude demeanor today shows that he does not hold those morals.
I hope you all see that Don does not see non-WotC material as moot and not near as important as those “more popular” systems. He will not be receiving business from anyone at that table and will not have business for long if he...
