World Market — Local services in Oxnard

I've loved this shop since I was a teen, when it was Cost Plus. Sometimes I buy, sometimes I meander. Stopped by a couple nights ago. I was descended up on by a rather severe looking blond staffer. She'd show up at every aisle next to where I was, putting [something] away so rapidly I thought I walked in on a Top Stocker reality show filming. She was so obvious. I've never really been followed like that so it was kind of weird. To be fair I'm a landscaper and did two properties that day so I was a proper mess but still! So rude.

After a few I showed up next to her aisle and offered to follow her for a while if she liked, we can trade back and forth. Share the burden. She accepted. I bought my stuff and left.

Things like that really try to take the delight out of looking at the adorable holiday ornaments. But I've been a fan of this place far too long. Still,...

I hadn’t been to World Market for awhile but decided to go in and use my $5 coupon for a gift I needed. Loved walking around and seeing all the beautiful things. Went to check out and the salesperson was less than enthusiastic. I input my phone number and she rang me up. I paid and then I remembered my $5 coupon. I said ‘oh you didn’t take off my $5 coupon, I had forgotten to mention it “ She looked at me and gave me the fake smile and said ‘oh well’. Did not offer to correct it. I did not feel like arguing so I left. I went in on Friday and she was kind of tall, dark hair and Hispanic looking (no prejudice cause I’m half Hispanic also). Worst customer Service...

Do not go to this store! Over the past year I’ve spent close to $8000 there. I had a $80 return this evening and got there at 7:59pm. The attendee Danny wouldn’t come to the door and would not talk to me. I’m leaving on a plane tomorrow for a month for our wedding. He refused to speak to me. I waited until he let other customers out and explained the situation. He finally did the return. He asked if I purchased it with my phone number and I said “no” just so I could get out there. Seriously the rudest employee ever. Won’t even give a customer a courtesy of speaking! And I shop there at least...
