I am updating because so far, the experience has gone from good to horrible.
the sales person forgot to add the bed. We had a whole conversation about getting the bed first and he didn’t even include it. However, I should have checked the receipt. That’s partly my bad.
I call and they hang up on me twice. Before that, it took about 5 tries before the automated system didn’t return me to the same menu after picking the same correct option. It kept making me pick the same option over and over again.
the guy at customer service says he can’t transfer me to the store. I tell him what happened and he says he can’t add to the order so he’ll transfer me TO THE STORE 😐
they tell me that my delayed mattress is actually available on Saturday and they’ll bring me the bed and the mattress the coming Saturday.
the charging end tables won’t charge my phone. When the delivery guy came the second time to deliver the bed and mattress, he tells me there’s an app I need to download since I have an iPhone. I ask the general manager about this and he’s unaware of an app for the phones to charge. So, they don’t work.
Saturday comes and the bed arrives banged up, scratched, cracked, and with pooled paint that chips off and exposes the wood (particle board?). Oh, and with no mattress. 😑 The drawers don’t close too well either. You really have to push them in. The tracks seem a bit on the cheap side.
I spent hours trying to figure out what happened to our mattress. I get hung up on a couple more times, going through hold times and menu options over and over again. They tell me they don’t know why the sales guy said there was a mattress available because it’s still saying it is back-ordered and will arrive 6/26. This is one of the managers. The store manager calls us later and tries to give me a “loaner”(?) mattress to make up for all the nonsense. He picks one for me. Why?? No idea 😐 It was supposed to get delivered today (Wednesday).
the bed arrives and a QUEEN MATTRESS. I ordered a king bed set 😑
one of the chests had pooled paint on the bottom and chipped off, exposing the wood underneath.
So far, I am not very happy with Bob’s.
Will update later once I get a “loaner” mattress that fits the bed and when I finally get the mattress I paid for.
Update: I returned everything. I got about 6 different dressers sent and all were so badly damaged that I couldn’t waste anymore time staying home. I had to fight for a full refund through the BBB. Never going...
Read moreUPDATE: Had my service appointment with a technician. Told him about how my bed rattles with any movement. He said he couldn't do anything about it. Took some pictures, and had me call customer service. He told her he couldn't do anything about it, and that the furniture was "up to standards". I asked him if the rattling in my bed was normal, because when I bought the furniture not one told me it was normal. Had I known this, then I wouldn't have bought the furniture. He avoided answering the question so I asked again if the rattling was normal. He avoided the question, and said couldn't do anything about it. So apparently Bob's discount's standards includes rattling furniture. Because he said that the furniture was within standards, customer service couldn't do anyting about it. Now I have to wait 30 days to call and get another technician to look at it. Otherwise I'm stuck with this furniture. Customer service rep was in agreement that rattling furniture is not normal. To the person who responded to my review, how/ who do I contact in regards to my experience? You didn't leave any contact info?
The buying experience was awesome, but since then this place is horrible. Would not recommend them run as fast as you can. They delivered my fireplace damaged back in may and practically every month since then they said they gonna give me a replacement. Now being told my fireplace won't be replaced till late november. My coffee table has splintered, but luckily they gave me credit to replace the coffee table. My bed frame constantly rattles. A technician was suppose to come and take a look at my furniture. I live in a gated community where you have to be buzzed in. The technician made no effort to buzz me. He left a voicemail from a private number saying he was at the gate, why not use the call box to get buzzed in? I couldn't call him back, since he called from a private number. Called customer service, and they contacted him to use the call box to get buzzed in. He never used it, called customer service a second time and it turned out he just left.
