My husband and I had been talking about getting a new dining set because ours was pretty old and falling apart. We had the money saved up and decided to pop into Bob's Discount Furniture on a whim. We were quickly greeted by Jose and he explained to us how the furniture store worked and how to read the signs. He was very courteous and friendly. We had our two sons with us - one of whom has Autism - and he pointed us to their snack bar so the boys could sit down to have some snacks and watch a kids movie on their TV while we looked around. It was a true blessing to have that little bar there for our boys! I had a very specific dining set in mind and was fortunate to find one that I liked quickly. I asked Jose all the questions I had and he was very helpful with the entire process. My husband & I agreed to the dining set and we purchased it on the spot. In all honesty, I normally avoid going into furniture stores because it's a hassle and I hate hidden/sudden fees attached at the end of the transaction. That was NOT the case at all with Bob's!! All the pricing was clearly displayed and one can make calculations on the spot. We did request delivery and purchased a warranty for our furniture which, of course, added up to our bill. But you can completely choose to skip that if you don't have the cash up-front or don't want to rack-up the credit. All in all, we ended up paying exactly what we thought we would and it was so easy. I was very impressed with the entire visit and purchase! We purchased our dining set on Saturday 3/23. Our delivery window was scheduled for Wednesday 3/27 between 12:15-4:15 pm, but the delivery guys ended up showing up by 11:30 am and were done constructing and setting everything up within 45 mins. They were QUICK! The delivery guys were not nearly as friendly as Jose, but they got the job done. We did have a mishap with one of the chairs because it didn't have the little cap at the bottom of the leg (the one that prevents your floor getting scratched up) and the actual leg was cracked. I don't know if it happened in transport or while it was being built or if it was a manufacturer's issue. I was upset because the delivery guys never mentioned anything and I didn't notice it until I started moving chairs around to set them up. By the time I noticed, they had already taken off. I did knock-off stars from their review because of this. I ended up calling Jose again with my predicament. He was on his lunch break but he called me back with the Customer Service number so that I could call and speak with someone who could assist me. I did just that and the lady on the phone was extremely helpful. She just told us to keep the damaged chair and we would get a brand new one in the mail sent to us as a replacement. This has been a long review, but I wanted to share our experience because I DREAD going shopping and this whole experience, mishaps and all, was incredible! Jose & the customer service lady made things to pleasant, the purchase was easy and painless, and we have a brand new dining set we absolutely love. We DEFINITELY recommend Bob's Discount Furniture and will absolutely be going back to get more furniture...
Read moreI went into the store to buy furniture for my upcoming move to a new apartment. I told them I was interested in buying some pillows also. Long story short I confirmed what the return policy is of a pillow due to the pandemic and the fact that pillows are one of those items like shoes once used I cannot return. The sales associate Lorena confirmed I had two weeks to return the pillows if I was not satisfied with the product. Several days later I had come in to return the pillows because I had found better ones at Ashley Furniture. The pillows were still in the plastic case they came in and the Sales Manager Juan Carlos told me I had three days from the date of purchase to bring them back. I told him my sales associate confirmed it was two weeks. He was kind but could not help me and directed me to the Store Manager James O. This man was extremely rude and unprofessional. I told him that the representative told me I had two weeks and that the pillows had not even been out of the wrapper. I expressed that the company was not acting out of integrity and did not follow their word and commitment they had made. He then asked me to leave the store. I was in shock!!!! I then asked for their names to do a review and told them I would do a review and he refused to give me any information about the store or their names. I then went to customer service and Juan Carlos (The Sales Manager) was able to help me and treated me with respect. They ended up giving me a store credit in the store but I do not even feel like going back in there after how I was treated by the Store Manager. I have NEVER been asked to leave a store when I wasn't being rude or disrespectful at all. I am quite disappointed and I recommend NOBODY support this store and to go to any other location besides the location in Palm Desert, CA. The Store Manager there was a disgrace to the company and should not have the privilege of being in charge at this store when clearly the only one kind and willing to help was the Sales Manger Juan Carlos. Read moreSensitive people, BEWARE. On December 26, 2019 our Gibson set was delivered. Within two days the off gassing was so bad that my husband had to disassemble the furniture, that we paid to have assembled and moved the set into our garage. I had severe allergic reaction to the off gassing, which was something that I have never experienced before. I couldn’t breath in my living room, my throat got extremely irritated and I was having headaches. I called customer support and they were very understanding and offered a replacement of like and kind or a re-selection. We opted to go with the re-selection because I didn’t want to chance going through this again with the same furniture. We went to the Palm Desert, CA store and we settled on another set, but it wasn’t something that we loved. Equally important, we had to spend an additional $600.00 for this set, which meant now we are out $2700 for furniture. We work hard to save our money and we haven’t purchased new furniture in years, so this was a big decision for us. Sadly, I decided that we shouldn’t be out $2700 for something that we didn’t really want and could potentially end up with another stinky set of furniture. While I am happy with the customer service that we received, I am extremely disappointed in the furniture. I am stuck with a $2000 set of furniture that I can hardly stand to be around. Even a month later, the furniture still smells. In addition to the money spent on furniture we had to buy an air purifier that has the ability to filter VOC’s which was another $250 spent. I wish I could go back in time and never purchase this set. Again, I want to express my gratitude for the customer service, but the product is terrible.
