I visited Best Buy in Palm Desert while on a mini vacay to the desert from LA in search of a new laptop since my Lenovo bit the dust 3 months ago; and I've been kinda lost without it ever since. So a friend I was visiting there and I arrived at Best Buy and we went straight to the Apple section. While we waited, it became abundantly clear what I wanted. So when the sales person showed up, I told him that I wanted to see a 2025 15" MacBook Air with M4 chip, 16GB memory and 256 GB for storage in Starlight, this gold color.
I want to point out that the sales person that helped me was extremely courteous. It was like purchasing my MacBook Air from a family member. And when making that kind of investment, it's much easier when you have very kind, efficient and knowledgeable people to deal with. Now I don't feel so lost without a laptop anymore. I'm now searching high and low for some unique and very necessary accessories to make my computing easier and my MacBook, more enjoyable.
I purchased the Best Buy Total membership which I will say is a lot to digest. But in a nutshell, it's Best Buy's best rewards or membership program that entitles you to all sorts of discounts in the form of points and certificates which translate to less money spent on your Best Buy purchases. On top of that, the usual 14 days you have to return an item for a refund now becomes 60 days. Now that's more like it because I didn't want to touch my MacBook Air for a whole week. I wanted it to stay brand new for as long as possible. So that extra time is a real benefit to me. Opening the box to reveal my MacBook Air was an exciting experience all by itself. Apple took the time to pay attention to little details that would make customers like me tear up and become moved by the experience of opening a box. And I've already saved $120 in discounts and rewards since I purchased the MacBook Air which I must point out is in addition to the 18 months same as cash for getting it on a Best Buy credit card which entitles me to even more rewards and points for purchasing certain items and regular discounts on any purchase. With the Best Buy Total membership I have 24/7 expert tech support, manufacturer warranty is extended on all my purchases, Apple Care is included for 2 yrs and on top of that, it comes with Geek Squad for free or nominal fees for repairs. I could go on and on. Like I said, a lot is what you get! Not even Amazon nor Walmart could have provided a better value or experience for my MacBook Air purchase.
Everyday I'm finding something to be thrilled about with my MacBook Air purchase whether it's the laptop or the Best Buy savings and peace of mind. I've already had an appointment with Geek Squad because I somehow locked myself out of my MacBook Air. And before I became super frustrated, I remembered that I purchased peace of mind and set up a same day appointment with Geek Squad. The manager at a different Best Buy store near me in LA was outstanding. I was back on my MacBook Air in no time flat.
No matter the Best Buy store, I've come to expect that I will be greeted upon entry, taken care of while I'm there, and will be thanked for coming when I leave with an assurance that if and when I need the good ole folk at Best Buy, they...
Read moreOkay I'll be a bit critical and bias to this review, let's start off with entering the store, The main the guard is quite friendly and quick to the point. As well very knowledgeable about inside the store also quick to make a joke
Upon entry of this store you're greeted by a phone display sometimes I can be well stocked other times
Pros: This is a list of things that I'm going to be putting down as I think to be a pro inside the store
Number one: offers somewhat knowledgeable staff but they aren't the greatest, now if this was a micro center this would be a completely different story the staff there is really well knowledgeable to the electronics they know inside and out
Number two: did you ask for a TV well let me tell you this TV for your TV and if you need a TV for your TV there's more TVs for TVs All jokes aside they do have a great selection for TVs
Number three: does anyone ask for a printer I don't know depends on what kind of printer do you need the printer to print the printer or a printer that can just print out documents, well if you ask for a printer that can print a printer I'm going to silently let you down on this one but I do have some great selections on one so I can print out documents
Number four: they still sell CDs come on what more are you asking for?
Number five: you can just place the supplies in the fridge microwave or dishwasher they got you covered trust me if I need to put a dishwasher inside the refrigerator that'll be the first question to ask I had no answers yet.
Cons :
Have you made it this far great if not okay cool but let me tell you this the company could use a better computer for being a Best buy or AKA electronic store you would expect to see a bit broader more computers but this is more generalized as a more typical oh I just need a computer nothing for really for people that are really into electronics and are willing to drop that yes I know this is a niche hobby but it really does show how much people do love this The geek squad yes they're great and all but they're tend to be overpriced and like in my eyes if you are a power user like I am and if you're reading this you're probably a power user if not that's great if so that's also great if you read this far I love you 😊 because to be honest reading this lengthy list of me rambling is it achievement of myself
Too long didn't read, tdlr : Best buy okay but price check everything and I mean everything I was able to save about over $500 on a...
Read moreZero stars. I am visiting from Wisconsin and need to transfer pictures off of my phone, which I bought at Best Buy in Wisconsin. While visiting my sister in Clovis, my sister and I went to the Best Buy and talked to the manager and asked for a recommendation. We explained what we needed and he directed us to a product. I am now in Palm Desert and could not transfer the photos. So I went to this Best Buy. I entered the store, explained what I needed and an associate was called over. I explained what I needed and his first words where, are you a member? I asked of what, and he explained Geek Squad. Are you kidding? I bought the phone and transfer stick at a Best Buy and you cannot explain how to use your product. No, I will not because you are not a member. Are you kidding me? A simple explanation of the product I bought at Best Buy?? He then reluctantly tried to show me how the stick worked. He did try and then he said you cannot transfer Google pictures but you have to download them first. When I asked him what he meant he said he would not answer that and I needed to go to Geek Squad. I asked for the manager. The told me that he would not answer my question about their product and how to use their product and said I had to go to Geek Squad, pay the $40 fee, to get that answer. I was angry because if you purchase an item from his store and you have a question on how to use said item, you have to pay Geek Squad for that answer. The manager was unyielding about a simple 3 minute answer and insisted that I pay Geek Squad for the answer. I did indeed call him a jerk and another profanity out of my anger and left the store. I will also notify corporate and inform them of the situation.
Sadly, I have been to this Best Buy last year and had similarly bad customer service.
If I had not purchased the product from a Best Buy store, I could understand their policy. The manager can try and blame this occurence on me and my anger. However, I did not get angry until the associate refused to answer a simple question about my phone (which i purchased from Best Buy) and told me to go to Geek Squad to get the answer.
Absolutely no customer service at all. All they want is money...
