It kills me to rate this place 2 stars - it should be 5 stars! I’ve gone to Jimmy’s since it was over in P-burg. I couldn’t believe my luck when it moved to Palmer Township - 3/4 of a mile from my childhood home! Jimmy’s hotdogs is a signature staple of my life and I’m sure it is the same for so many in Easton, PA, and beyond. About 9 years ago, I moved away and so I can only get Jimmy’s Dogs a couple times a year when I come home to visit. It’s still weird that Jimmy’s isn’t open until 10:00 pm or later - but whatever… Now they are open until 7:00 PM. So… I pulled up tonight a 6:46PM as they were locking the door and shutting off the open sign ?? I was so confused ? Don’t they want to make money - don’t they understand honesty? and the legacy of this product ? The lady actually yelled at me for for wondering why they were closing earlier than the stated time. If you want to close at 6:45PM that’s fine - that’s your decision… but don’t close at 6:45 pm when you say you are open until 7 - it is horrible customer relations. List your open hours as 11:00 AM - 6:45 PM. Problem solved - 5 star review. also had a crazy ideal- plan on having a couple dogs (with everything) set aside for closing… you can say “sorry we are closed.. but here’s “the last dog” on us… 5...
Read moreBecause of how great we think their hot dogs are, its sad that we had such a bad experience. But we are so disappointed in the customer service of Jimmy's. The closing time is 7. I called at 6:28 because it was running close to ask if they would take an order over the phone and I would be there at close to 645, she said was abrupt and said sorry we don't do that but as long as you come in by 6:45 , we will take your order. Based on that, my husband raced over there and walked in the door at 6:44 ( on their clock) and she told him that she was closed while she was wrapping a big order for another customer. She said she was sick so she had to close. I understand things happen and people do get sick and for that, we felt bad, but that could have been told to me when I called the first time at 6:28 and maybe with a nice , apologetic tone to her voice. We would not have raced there expecting 6:45 still to be ok to place and order, less than 20 min from our conversation. Good customer service is a thing of the past . It makes all the difference and a cold and nasty attitude towards people that support a business is truly upsetting. Fortunately we found another local hot dog place that was just as good. We...
Read moreI HATE having to give it 4 stars instead of five. I have been coming to Jimmy's hot dogs my entire 57 years. But, they seem to be skimping more. Located in a strip mall, it's take out only and only accepts cash. The hot dog with everything is on a fresh bun, with yellow mustard, raw onions and a slice of pickle. It's nothing to rave about, but it's a taste I grew up on. Anyway, they must have changed the brand of hot dog, because it didn't taste the same and the pickle wedge was sliced so thin, there were no 'inerds' just the skin. The pickles used to be cut in four so you had a decent taste of pickle. Of course, the price went up $1.45, 😀 but that's still the best bargain around. The staff was not too pleasant - I guess the owner is getting tired of the grind. I'm a native New Yorker and I go out of my way to go to Jimmy's. At least twice in my life, I've driven all the way from NY to PA just to get the hot dogs. In my opinion, they're still...
