I do not generally write reviews, however a remarkable level of abysmal customer service has led me to leave this review. I used to shop regularly at Backcountry, however I recently purchased a pair of size 11 men's shoes which were the same length as size 8.5 men's shoes. The customer service involved telling me that the shoes ran small. A pair of shoes 2.5 sizers smaller than the stated size is not "running small" - that is a defect in the sizing of the product. The customer service agent simply ended the conversation there. When I complained, I got the same customer service agent - Fernando - who just said they could not be returned. Recent changes by California banned PFAS in sporting goods and attire. Pretty much this is in everything.
On their website they carry brands not sold in stores, yet will NOT ship to California.
Why open a retail presence in California when your parent company picks and chooses what to sell to CA consumers?
