My daughter, husband, and I went to the Palo Alto store. We were all excited to surprise my daughter and go back to school shopping. We usually go to the Santa Row store. We live in Union City and wanted to do something closer. So, my husband and I decided to go to the Palo Alto Store. It was our first time there, and we got bad service. The experience at the store was very unpleasant. The employees were rude and weren't helpful. They greeted others but not me and my daughter, maybe because we were different. They didn't acknowledge our presence. I would hate to overthink this. I would hate to think because of our skin color, the way we dressed or looked? I sure felt like I was racially profiled. There were so many things to mention, but there was one thing I felt really uncomfortable when I was in a blind spot (corner) of the store and that the employees would watch my every move and be hella up on me, so obvious that I wouldn't catch it! This was so funny to me because they have HELLA cameras in the store too. They were probably watching me on the cameras to watching my every move. Trying to catch something. LOL! Like was go to steal or something. I observed how the employees treated other customers, and it was so different. It was upsetting me. I realize that the employees were not diverse. I wanted to speak up but maintained my composure because, knowing me, it wouldn't be a good thing. Could you imagine a 40 + year old going gangster, wanted to throw down and going postal in the store? (it was going through my head) But I didn't. Plus, I was with my daughter. She was excited and enjoying her time getting clothes for school. She didn't notice what was going on, but I saw. I worked for retail/ customer service for many years. So, I know how to treat people from all walks of life who come into the store, give the best service, help, acknowledge their presence, and discern people who are up to no good. These girls shouldn't be working in customer service. They don't have people skills. They should treat ALL people.. customers' with respect in a timely, efficient, and pleasant way. My daughter loves your brand because of its value. I spent $150.00 that day, but a bad experience. It is so sad that we live in the Bay Area, the most diverse place on the earth, but I felt a certain uncomfortable vibe from our visit to...
Read moreI came twice because I needed an emergency white shirt and I like cotton material and this store has it. When I arrived first time the store was crowded. I asked one of the young white girls that work there (cause I just see white young girls tbh) if they had other jeans or sizes. They have "S" for sure, then when I proceeded to checkout one of them joke with the other asking if the shirt would fit "me" cause I am M but i fit on S shirts mostly cause my breasts are small and even though that was none of their business. They were rude. Today 02/14/2023 there was one white girl and she was looking at me the whole time when I was one of the two people in store. I put the clothes in one side and she told me to move them to the other side of the paying machine and I was like ok. The way she talked was rude, she asked me if I wanted a bag and I said No then she asked me again "yes or no?!" I said not. Paid and left. Honestly is the most unwelcoming store I have been at. I feel they treat you bad specially if you're not skinny and white ( I am latina, peruvian, dark skinned). I say go for the clothes cause the material is good but don't expect to be treated good by the staff. They are a bunch of young white girls that act...
Read moreDon't listen to any of the negative reviews up. Truly one of the finest stores I have been in for a while. The staff all welcomed us in right away with booming smiles. The visuals of the store are so well thought out-- I can tell these girls are trained well in both customer service and visuals. The Filipina girl, Dennise was her name I think, was especially lovely, catering to any help I needed. She has a way with the hook, getting high things down for me. These girls are very focussed, and so any reviews claiming that they couldn't care less must not be accurate! Truly such an impressive store, and the young ladies running this store have bright futures. A young lady named Kate checked me out and she was just lovely. She has given me the best customer service I have ever experienced in a retail store. Sam, the store manager, knew so much about the store itself. A Jewish one also was very warm to me...my her smile could light up a room! I am definitely going here again, if not for the clothes, then for the workers. They were so sweet to me, a little old lady, and made me feel at home. Come here for good quality clothes at a low price, or for friends! Planning on bringing my cats in for the girls to...
