Make sure that the store associates explain details when take your items from you: what to expect, how to be prepared. I came after gym and a guy who was helping me looked down on me and asked if I consigned with them before. When I said yes he said that my items will be sent to expert for evaluation and if I don’t like the price they set I can have my items back. Previously, for my 2 bags I was paid right away on the spot. This time I realized it will take some time. I received an email titled “in the hands of our experts” saying that my items arrived and processing takes 2-3 weeks. So I waited when they process and “evaluate”. But no one is going to inform you about the price they decided on or that your items were already posted for sale without you even knowing the price. So when in less than 2 weeks I received an email “congratulations, your item sold” it was a total surprise for me. So if they evaluate your items less that $99 your commission is only 20% and 80% is theirs. So they sold my new unworn shoes for $95 which makes my commission $19. Then they don’t ask you how do you want to withdraw your money, simply send you a check and withdraw another $12.5 for their service. So I received $6.50 for my new Casadei pumps. I called to their store and they said they have nothing to do with it, that they simply accept and ship items and was suggested to reach out to the Real Real customer service. Customer service promises to escalate your request, and then you receive an email saying there is nothing they can do, it’s too late: your items are sold, this is the price and we can’t change it. To estimate things and set right expectations from the very beginning go to their website and search for similar items — based on price you see there, you can see how much you can make based on their table. If it’s something less than $200 don’t even bother.

This location lost 2 of my items and then 2 months went by without any word on when my items would be listed online. When asked where it was they said the items could not be located. The items I left off were Luis Vuitton belts and shoes worth over $2000. When I inquired about the missing items they tried to cover up the fact my items were lost and quickly changed my items in my profile to say that I dropped off two random items that weren’t even mine. The real real reached out apologizing for losing my items and informed me that I would be compensated for the items for what it would’ve been sold online. They compensated me 70% of what my items would’ve sold for not even an attempt to reimburse me for their faults or any other attempts to reconcile this problem fairly. I was paid around $750 for two items that cost around $2000 when I purchased them and was brand new. My suggestion is to not use them for any your luxury goods resale. If you do then make sure you document everything and take pictures of everything so that you are protected and covered in case they mess up. Not only did they lose my luxury goods they failed to make any sort of efforts to make it right with their customer. How are customers supposed to trust you with items worth thousands of dollars when you cant even keep track of your inventory. It’s shady how you conveniently lost my items and paid me significantly less than what you would’ve actually sold it for. You will never see me using your services ever again.

I consigned two items that did not sell, so I paid the $15 restock fee to ship my items back to me. One was shipped back with a BROKEN HANDLE. There was not wrapping in the box with my bags so it was not shocking that this happened but it was disappointing to say the least. I started a case and sent the broken bag back to them for them to "investigate". They have been sending me generic emails every couple weeks to say that someone is looking at my case but it was been 3 months and counting. Nothing has been resolved. I am now out a $2700 purse.

Absolutely scammers! Their descriptions do not match what they send you!! There pictures are horrible! I had a problem last month over a pair of Chloe shoes. The description stated they were a 6 and they clearly were labeled as a 61/2. Then it’s at my time and money to get them sent back. I have to fix their mistake! Their customer service is absolutely horrible beyond horrible! So number one nobody speaks clear English! Second they are located outside the US! Thirdly they never respond to there messages!!! So the next thing I bought a ball cap from them and went to track it and it showed a super ugly pair of shoes! So I contacted them and the lady had no glue on how she could help me. She assured me I would get the hat but if I get this ugly stupid shoes I needed to return them! Seriously people you freaking high end store! This happened 2 days ago! So I ordered a pair of pink Gucci shoes size 6! I got them and they were Reformation not Gucci! Second they were size 9. Thirdly the bottom said $236 I paid $500! They also were in a Gucci box! They are liars and scammers! They will not send me the right shoes. He said they were lost and stolen! Liar!!!!! So I went on their site looked up the shoes that I was supposed to get! So they have the same exact shoes listed same everything. The original price on the ones I ordered were the same but mine were marked down to $500. So I called and they would not give them to me! They said they were at a different location! They did acknowledge that they were the exact same! So I think they had marked them to $500 and wanted more out of them! Scammers and need to be shutdown!!!! They are arrogant jerks! Buyer Beware!!!! Karma is Gods way of taking care of horrible nasty people such as the real real scammers! Please people help me put them out of...

Sketchy First-Time Consignment Experience

I came to the Palo Alto store for my very first consignment appointment and left feeling dismissed and deeply skeptical of their process.

I arrived a few minutes late and was met by a young Asian woman at the front desk. She messaged someone (apparently their “expert”) via seemingly Slack to check if they’d still see me. The response came back was translated to basically “too late, no time”, and That was it. I was never told to wait, never given a chance to speak with anyone directly, and never offered an alternative, the entire conversation was super passive aggressive.

What felt especially off was how the front desk person then started pushing me to just leave my item with them, saying I’d “get results in a few days.” For a first-time consignor, this didn’t sit right—especially since she also mentioned that new consignments typically take about an hour to process due to setting up direct deposit and other steps. Yet my appointment was only scheduled for 30 minutes. That contradiction made the whole thing feel misleading and unprofessional.

It honestly felt like they just wanted to get the item in their hands, regardless of whether I was fully informed or comfortable. Based on other reviews I’ve now seen, I’m not the only one who left questioning whether I’d ever get a proper update or fair payout.

This location does not live up to the standards I expected, I honestly feel like that lady does not even care or love working there, won’t be...
