Marugame Udon — Local services in Palo Alto

The staff, the food, and the location are PERFECT! The staff is super super attentive to the cleanliness and care for the customers. Also, the restroom was PRISTINE✨!

I asked if it was ok for me to put together some tables for a party of 6, I was told yes and the staff came right away to help!

I’ve been to Japan and went to Marugame Udon there, and this one was DIVINE. It definitely brought back memories, and I’ll come back 1000%.

Obs: You first order the bowl you want. Second, you are asked if you want scallions and crunchy fried tempura batter (both free, and you can ask for extra scallions). Third, you slide your tray and get some tempura shrimp, octopus, vegetables, etc, of your choice (each has a different price), then you pay....

Three visits in a row earned us the legendary t-shirts. Now, every Friday, we wear them like armor and march into this noodle haven like it’s a weekly pilgrimage. The staff knows us. The bowls know us. The slurp? Consistent perfection.

Each bite is like a warm hug from a carb-based deity. Chewy, savory, umami-packed magic that somehow tastes better when you’re in uniform. Some people have casual Fridays. We have Udon Fridays.

We came for the noodles. We stayed for the tradition. We’ll probably end up in the restaurant’s group photo one day, captioned: “Most Loyal Slurpers.”

Already ate here twice since grand opening last month!! Delicious food, friendly staff, and smooth operations!!

ONE NOTE: and this is just my opinion-but blasting dance pop music took away from the dining experience just due to how loud and dancy the music was. I love Chappell roan and Sabrina carpenter but it felt really weird.

I would think about the atmosphere you’re trying to curate and go from there.
