Went here for breakfast today. Was asked if i was dining in or to go. Told them dining in. Was told i could sit where ever i would like and when i was ready to order to go up to the register to order. I order a mimosa, options were orange or pineapple (cannot mix flavors- i asked. Lol). I order orange mimosa and strawberry pancakes with a side of whip cream. Let me preface this part of the review with I'm not the biggest pancake fan but i was in the mood for some. I sit down and food comes out in about 7-10 min. Mimosa is made with what appears to be fresh squeezed orange juice it was good but maybe a little heavy on the juice. I can't really complain though since it was bigger and cheaper then ones i had previously at other places. The pancakes come out and from the first bite which i do not add syrup to, just a strawberry (strawberries were a little wilted and had seen better days. Lol) and some whip cream. Something seems off, there is a slight metallic taste. I chalk this up to the center and bottom pancakes being extremely hot. Next bite i add syrup and a strawberry and the taste is still there. This taste continues through out eating the pancakes. I eat a third of them and decide to stop. At this time i decide if someone comes over I'll say something. I sit there with my plate pushed away and 2/3 of my food still sitting on the plate for approx 20 min while i finish my mimosa and play on my phone. No one ever comes to check on me, clear away my dishs or asks me how my food was, etc. They stand near me, look towards me, but never come over to me. So at this time i have been there for approx 45 min and outside of bringing me silverware, my drink and food no one has checked on me. I'm not sure if this is the norm since you had to order at the register. I get up and go to the restroom I come out 2 min later and my table is cleared and set up for the next customers to use. Left out of there disappointed and...
Read moreA birthday brunch celebration for my niece. This was a fun day of nostalgia being in Palo Alto and enjoying the weather and people in the downtown area. We were a small group of 6-8 people. I have been to Crepevine a few times. They have good food and good service. This Sunday was quite busy as the weather was pretty nice. There were lots of people lining up to dine. This was an all Ladies brunch. I ordered breakfast food but, took a while to decide because there were a lot of savory items to choose from as well as breakfast or brunch. I started off with a jalapeño cornbread appetizer to share with our party. I didn't care for it too much as it was too course and heavy and also didn't have much jalapeño flavor. The only way I was able to eat a piece is with the honey butter syrup drizzle that added some flavor and moisture to the bread. We were a little scrunched into our seating area but it all worked out fine. The issue we had was my daughter ordered her food 1st and received her food last and when it was received the order was wrong. She's plantbased and specifically ordered her dish with no chicken. Of course when she finally received her plate it was filled with chicken which explains why it took so long for her order to be ready they were cooking the chicken that she specifically didn't order. Other than that everyone else seemed to have received their correct entrees and enjoyed their food. They did replace my daughter's food correctly in good timing so for that we give them a pass. All in all we had a great day in the bay. dining and spending time celebrating life together where we are from. Great Food & Lots of...
Read moreQuick review. - Fantastic. If you want good quality, taste and reasonably quick food with great service, this is the ideal spot.
More detailed review below.
They serve a variety of crepes. I tried the San Franscisco and Bombay which are savory. I also tried the one which has nutella - a sweet one (forget the name).
Taste - Very good. All the crepes I tried were very good. They come with a good portion of salad and you also get house potatoes or fries.
Quality - The quality of the ingredients seemed very good. I particularly remember my first visit and my first bite of the salad and it blew me away. It is true that I live in the east coast and by default everything in California is very fresh. So, California locals might not find this true but still I did find the food very fresh and sumptuous.
Coffee was also very good.
Service - Amazing! Extremely friendly and accommodating. I was particularly happy because I made special requests for my son and each time they accommodated his peculiar tastes be it over cooked spinach with nothing added, or be it a bowl of fruits with just blueberries, watermelon and cantaloupe or a fried egg done just between easy and hard. They also give small children a small twisty toy to play which my son love, although he played with it only once we were back at the hotel.
For this I would give it 6 stars.
Price - Reasonable
Ambiance - Good. Has the feel of a cosy fast food place.
Note - for my friends who don't know crepes but do know dosas - crepes are similar to Indian Dosas, but crepes are not generally...
