We live an hour away from this Home Depot. We put a deposit down on a sliding glass door, got it measured, and could not speak with anyone via phone who knew anything about our order. We were told that the best thing to do would be to drive back to the store and visit in person. We had selected a door previously, but no one could help us. We were told to wait on the person we ordered the door from after he got back from lunch. We agreed to do so.
After an hour of wandering throughout the store, we found it difficult to move due to all the employees blocking the aisles, mostly in groups off three on this Friday from noon until about 2 p.m. The labor costs must be huge at this outlet. Most of the employees we âbumped intoâ were nice and asked if they could help. Especially friendly was the man with only one arm, I am sorry I forgot his name.
Finally, the âdoor expertâ showed up from his lunch break and fumbled and fiddled around until he found our records, (after we showed him our receipt). He was hesitant, avoided eye contact, and made a phone call to someone. Immediately after the phone call he told us the HD contractor was not licensed to install our door since it was on the fourth floor. He said his contractor could work no higher than the second floor. Yes, SERIOUSLY!
Finally, he credited our account for what we paid initially. We drove the hour to make the connections because it is next to impossible to get anyone to answer the HD main phone and/or the individual department phone. Though we hate to admit it, both my wife, and I are classified as elderly; however, we made the hour-long drive three times to get our new sliding glass door, and ended up without a deal.
Kudos to a lady in that department who helped as much as she could over the phone, and a man about our age who made us feel like he cared. Neither of these two individuals could help, but they were friendly and sympathetic to our inquiries.
So as we left the HD building, we asked a very friendly lady employee who the manager of the store was and she mentioned his name and asked if we had any problems she could help us with. She walked us to a display where comment cards could be found to get feedback to the manager. Guess what? Both of the clear comment card pockets were absolutely empty, and the kind lady apologized, but did not know where she could get any replacement cards.
We blew a whole day on this visit and wait, only to find HD could not give us what...
Read moreHome Depot Installation was an absolute nightmare. The âplumberâ disconnected my fridge instead of my dishwasher. Then the âinstallation guyâ discovered this issue and reconnected the fridge then disconnected the dishwasher. I was highly concerned with all of the banging around under my cabinets but figured he knew what he was doing. An hour and a half later I notice water all over my kitchen floor. Confused, I start cleaning it up and then open my cabinets where water flooded out. I ran to the street to turn off my main valve. The original âplumberâ came back and at first claimed they didn't touch that valve. I explained it was the other guy since he disconnected the wrong one, and he said âoh, youâre right!â. Then stated âit definitely wasnât like this when we were hereâ. His fix was to put a valve on the broken valve. Home Depot told me to file a claim, which I did. I had a company come out with an air scrubber to mitigate damage (on my behalf, not even from insurance). It took a week and a half for insurance to reach out to me to ask for pictures, which I sent along with a video I took before I got all the water cleaned out (still shot added in photos of my review of me touching the cabinets to show how much water was still in there after several towels had already been used). Now we are at 2 weeks and 1 day and have heard nothing. I had the air scrubber removed and the tech stated he would be worried about mold growing under my cabinets because this is a long time to wait. I definitely would consider having a reputable plumber installing any items you purchase because the people that came from Home Depot were so inept and I do not wish for them to come back into my home. Hoping I donât have to wait another 2 weeks for them to tell me what...
Read moreWe ordered a GE Profile refrigerator and got it delivered and set-up on 2/3/25. We realized the right door wasnât latching correctly after the delivery company left. We called them and they came back. They did note what was wrong but didnât take the refrigerator back. We scheduled a delivery of the replacement refrigerator but they tried to deliver it on a different date and we werenât home. We were at a doctor appointment. Today is 3/5/25 and since then we have had four scheduled deliveries and every one was a no call, no-show. So we sit with a damaged refrigerator. We are getting the run around. They can seldom get a hold of the warehouse where supposedly our refrigerator is sitting. We were told weâd be a priority delivery twice. Where is our replacement refrigerator? What is going on? This is FIVE DAYS of NOT being at work. This is costing us so much $$$. Apparently they use the Temp co company for deliveries? Maybe itâs all on them. But the inability for Home Depot to get in touch with them and get an honest answer is unacceptable. Home Depot said they could get us some compensation once the refrigerator is delivered but it itâs never delivered so we canât get any compensation. If we return the refrigerator and buy the same one at a competitor, Home Depot said it will take 10 days to pick it up and up to 10 more days to get a refund. Will they say they never got the refrigerator from us? Hard to trust them at this point. We will never buy an appliance from them ever again. Very...
