Culver’s — Restaurant in Panama City Beach

Culver's is Wisconsin's answer to a "smash burger". First off, I didn't go through the drive-through, but the dine in service was comparable to the high standards set by Chick-fil-A. Staff was courteous and attentive. The restrooms and dining area were well cleaned and service was offered after food was received.

The food was amazing. I ordered a double butter burger basket and tasted some of the frozen custards they are famous for. I didn't taste any of the special offerings like pot roast or fried cheese curds because I wanted to be able to compare it to analogs offered by similar upscale fast food places and I can only do so many calories per visit. The burger: I ordered the works. You get a generous selection of toppings and can pay extra for premiums like bacon etc. The burger was smashed with crisp lacey edges yet juicy. The bun was buttery, hence the name, and the cheese was melty. They were a bit ham handed with the mustard so that dominated the taste in the middle. Next time I will order it without. The fries are crinkle cut, crispy on the exterior and almost creamy on the inside. To top it off, the custard was fantastic. There is less overage (air) than traditional ice cream, and RICH. Wow, I tried chocolate and vanilla. The cocoa flavor of the chocolate masked a bit of the rich you get from the taste you get on the back end of the vanilla so I recommend going with the classic.

I have never been to a fast food place with such consistently great customer service. Every time (and I do mean EVERY time) we have ever gone to Culver's in Panama City Beach, we have been greeted and served by employees who are genuinely friendly and happy. Management must be treating employees well, because they're always smiling.

Sometimes, my wife and I are indecisive, even about things like dessert. There are so many flavor choices when it comes to making a frozen custard, and the employees at Culver's not only don't mind our indecisiveness at times; employees have actually recommended favorite combinations of their own, all of which have turned out great. They never rush anyone.

The food is hot, high-quality, and brought to the table. Their burgers are awesome, but they've got so many other delicious options as well, such as the reuben, the fried cod, the pot roast sandwich, and flavorful salads. And I've never been able to go to Culver's and resist getting a frozen custard. 😂

This combination of great food, decadent desserts, and some of the friendliest customer service I've ever received (seriously, not an exaggeration) make Culver's stand out from every other fast food place. In fact, I'd probably categorize it all on its own. It isn't 'fast food;' it's food that just so happens to be fast.

I just had a horrible experience from Culver's in Panama City Beach, FL. I stopped by after work and on the way to an event, and this was my only chance to grab a bite, from tbe drive thru and to eat on the way. I ordered a pot roast sandwich meal and asked to add mayo. At the window the young man, I'm sure witbout thinking, adjusted his ear phone and touch the inside of my drink lid to his ear and hair and proceeded to put in on the drink he handed me.I was asked to pull forward and thought I would tell whoever brought out my food so as not to embarrass him but he brought out the food. Therefore, no drink. Then driving away I found the sandwich was in a box, and not wrapped in paper. I had been given ONE napkin. I attempted to remove the sandwich from the box and wrap it with the napkin but most of the contents tumbled out onto me and the car, leaving grease stains on my pants. Now with mostly bread it was easy to see no mayo was added. Culver's must know that likely the majority of people in the drive thru are eating in their cars out of neccessity. Why wouldn't one wrap that messy of a sandwich. It is what I was expecting. I didn't have time to change. I am handicapped and can't vacuum my own car, so that will cost me.
