I don’t understand all the bad reviews. To be honest, I think that the people who have the indecency to give this place such a bad review are probably miserable people and when I look at their other reviews, they seem to form a pattern of widespread hatred and hostility towards 8/10’s of the places they visit. I personally LOVED the two times I’ve eaten at My Ramen so far. The first time I had the Black Garlic ramen with some rangoon on the side and it was superb. The rangoon was perfectly fried, with thin wonton, and had delicious filling. I saw someone say it tasted microwaved and that’s just a lie. I ordered the ramen just the way it came at med heat and the broth WAS SO DELICIOUS. It was super flavorful and definitely left me satisfied. I was surprised at how good it was, because this quality of ramen is actually hard to find in this area. A lot of places around here are subpar and i will agree that it being a tourist town with high traffic affects this area negatively sometimes. This place is a total exception, though!! The second time my husband and I ordered it together, he had the Black Garlic ramen and I had the Tonkotsu ramen; I have to say, we both thought it was amazing. I saw so many people slamming this place and I genuinely don’t understand. I get that the egg wasn’t absolutely perfect and soft boiled to a consistency that is usually desired in ramen, but that’s not a deal breaker for me. After it sits in the bowl from being door-dashed or picked up by us and is susceptible to the steam build up, I don’t mind. I absolutely love this place and will give them my business as long as they stay open. I love y’all, thank you for trying your best. I’m so sorry there are so many jerks around here who act as if they’re snobby, wet nosed kings and queens and feel the need to tear down brand new local businesses who are trying to make it. You don’t deserve that. I, for one, can’t wait to see you guys thrive and I know that every new business takes time to work out some kinks and tweak things in order to become even better. We’re here for it. Sorry I didn’t take photos, it smelled so good, I just dug right in and forgot all about trying to be a self obsessed “foodie” like a lot of these immature people. I don’t write reviews often, but y’all are worth my...
Read moreMy order experience with My Ramen is one of the worst I’ve ever had with a restaurant! Beware if you order on DoorDash because they will not give you all your items you paid for if you have a duplicate order on one ticket. I placed an order for 2 Tonkotsu Ramen and 2 extra noodles, when I went to pickup my order they only put one extra noodles in the bag and I told the “manager” that I’m missing an order of extra noodles and instead of the young lady listening and going over the order with me she argued with me that I only ordered one extra noodles not two and I’m standing breaking down the order adding up the total for all the items and she didn’t care and was dead set on arguing with me. When I asked for the manager she said she was the manager and honestly I didn’t believe her so I asked if there was any other employee there so we can throughly discuss the situation and she calls the owner and the owner without listening to the customer to get an understanding of the situation didn’t want to speak with me and ultimately told the “manager” to call DoorDash. After she attempted to call DoorDash once and never tried again I called them and explained the situation we went over the math and ultimately they refunded me my order and I will never in my life go back to this restaurant. If a manager is there to argue with customers I can only imagine what the regular employees would do! The “manager” was terrible the owner was terrible and the food was barely...
Read moreIt's 730pm, I'm nowhere particular in Florida... is there ramen nearby? Yes, surprisingly, there is. How bad could it be? In fact, not so bad at all.
I ordered the tonkotsu, and it came fast and hot. The egg was not ice cold (honestly about 50/50 on this no matter what the place) and the toppings were traditional and included a nice large sheet of nori and fat slice of naruto. The chashu was tough and not that flavorful -- probably not that fresh -- but I've had way worse.
The soup was thin and I had to concentrate to really taste it. The one red flag on the menu was a big box explaining the three spice levels available for the soups, and the server then also specifically asked what spice level I wanted. She modulated her extravagantly bored tone only once, to exclaim in astonishment, "you want NO spice?" The spice is obviously a crutch; better to make a decent soup and put the spice on the table. For all that, the soup was inoffensive.
The big weakness is the noodles. Limp, thin, pale and tasteless, so soft I thought they would fall apart on the sticks. My feeling is that they're sitting for hours in water rather than being cooked to order. Not at all appetizing, and a massive blow to the quality of the bowl.
So overall, the ramen is like three stars, but it's not a bad effort for a new place. The pleasure of finding a dedicated ramen shop way out in Florida and have is more than enough for the extra star; what a time we live in. Good luck...
