Sterling Breeze Resort — Hotel in Panama City Beach

First off, its at least a mile to the Pier. Maybe more. Too far for most people to walk to eat. There is a Mc Donalds close. Winn Dixie is about 4 city blocks away. Ice cream would not make it back if you walked. We are currently staying in a one bedroom on the 11 th floor. The bedroom faces the street which has been noisy every night all night till 5:30 in the morning.. Finally downloaded a white noise app to muffle the loud people coming and going through the garage across the street and in the open hallways on each floor here. Something about how its built amplifies sound. Our unit had floors and bedding that had not been cleaned. We asked after checking in for house keeping to come since the sand was pretty bad. I washed the sheets myself. Two days later housekeeping showed up and said the owner was negligent and needed to buy a broom. Yep. We had no broom or working vacuum. We booked through the resort. Finally on day three , I pitched a tad of a dido, threatened to leave to a gal at the desk and a gal swept three hours later... Note - She only swept where the desk said was sandy. She had enough just from hitting the high spots to fill a dust pan. She said we didnt tell the front desk that sand was everywhere. She was amazed at the dirty floors but that didnt make her clean them. Oh... did I mention there was sand in the smelly sheets also. What a nice bonus! I broke down and sorta fixed the vacuum myself. It didnt suction perfectly but I cleaned it out well enough for it to gather around a cup of sand . * Note that we had not been to the beach yet or and tracked any inside.. just the two of us leaving our shoes by the door. The front desk person arrived with a broom today for me. I swept up about a eighth cup of sand in the bedroom and gave up. I will sweep the rest tomorrow. So I get the pleasure of sweeping and washing the ratty sheets for the low low price of $300 a night. Golly gee! Thanks! We won’t be back. Today we bought ear plugs so we can sleep. Happy vacation! Nice view from the balcony though. Wouldnt reccomend units whose bedrooms are below the 12th floor . Too noisy at night. The little poolside bar had reasonable burgers and drinks. Thats a bonus. I didnt find a Starbucks here. Maybe they serve Starbucks brand coffee at the bar? Beach chairs were included in the price but you actually pay for them. People were in our assigned chairs every day and refused to leave. I think they were not at the resort. One woman said that her family had rented chairs also but the beach guy hadnt set up her umbrella so it’s every man for himself. The beach guy running the chairs said that. Not exactly the kind of crowd we expected when random people from the beach use the resort. We didn’t feel easy leaving anything in our chairs and taking a swim. Someone stole our sunscreens when we went for a walk. Hubs accidentally packed sunscreen with purple glitter that from our dance daughter’s room. They made it for outdoor performances. We saw the purple glitter on a drunk guy next to us but NOOOO he didn’t have our sunscreen… The manager saw it and laughed. So we let everyone know that if anyone found sunscreen with purple glitter, it is ours. The whole pool knew the guy stole it.

Its a family oriented resort with no kids activities. You can’t even buy them. The hot tub was always full of infants with no swim diapers. So that would be a soak at your own risk. It didnt stop people from putting their babies in it to play, which gives one pause... Im not gonna be back. If it werent for Red Tide we would have been in Captiva or Sanibel. Very disappointed with Sterling Breeze. The pool closes at 10pm and no one is even allowed to be in the pool area after 10pm. Adults were asked to leave and were just sitting in the chairs with no intentions of getting in the pool after it closed. The pool security guards are horriable! They yell at the children and will not let them play. One guard snapped his fingers and yelled at the children for playing with a ball in the pool. If this would of been my children he yelled at like that we would of had words he was very mean. They also would only allow a certain number of people in the hot tub at a time. Your not allowed to play your own music at the pool and they don't play music at the bar. The security guards told us to turn our phones off we were not allowed to play our music. The lady at the bar made the wrong drink and even told me it was the wrong the drink then when I said I didn't order that she asked what I ordered and told me it was the drink I ordered. It was horrible she had no clue how to make drinks. She even said while she was making it she wasn't sure what went in it and she had to use her cheat sheet and she still made the wrong drink! She also wouldn't make me what I ordered and I was stick paying for the wrong drink. Several of the other guest we spoke with felt the same way and none of us will be back to stay at sterling breeze again due to the horriable staff. Upon arrival the problems started. No communication from owner had to contact VRBO just to get entry to condo to begin vacation 3 hrs after arrival.. Owner blamed her own VRBO system updates. By the time we gained entry we realized why they had taken our money in full “ 2months before” way before check in. After we cleaned the floors , washed sheets & documented the broken chairs and numerous wore down furnishings we had decided this would be our first & last time with Leesa. We were told the glass on coffee table had been broken from previous client but was supposed to be fixed during our stay “ not gonna hold my breath”. Reported Tuesday the patio grill was inoperative & was completely nasty, I had cleaned it completely before realizing it didn’t even work. Friday Leesa calls me while getting her nails done, as if I cared, to go and let the maintenance man in the room. Sorry I’m on vacation and I’m not about to give up my time on the beach with my family so some wanna be can tell me all her excuses why her unfit condo needs the be fixed on MY vacation. Then to top off with all of this she try’s to charge me for having a “party” cause my 11 year old niece baked me a cake for my 42nd BD & we left it on the counter. During my 16 hr drive home Leesa tried to charge me even more for the previously broken coffe table glass and only after I called her out on it with pics from day one did she apologize for getting it wrong. $2000 dollars 6 nights. Obviously needs the money & tries to get more. Renter beware this...
