This place needs some serious management changes. It used to be so good, I’m not sure what happened. Let’s start with the customer service.
I had a coupon for five dollars off but it said I had to order in the store … fine … stupid… but fine whatever. The prices have increased a lot last couple times I’ve gone in so five bucks seemed worth it.
When I walked in the door at 10:00 am Sunday the line was expectedly long. The problem is that the person in the front of the line was trying to pickup their call in order which was apparently lost. The young kid at the register (it appears it all younger kids working here) was nice in trying to help resolve the issue but obviously inept. The person didn’t want to step aside because they waited for fifteen minutes in line to pick up their to go order, and I don’t blame them. I get the need to put the orders behind the counter because people steal stuff, but at the same time they had what looked like 10-15 bagged orders ready to go back there and not one of the people back there seemed to have any sense of urgency in simply reading the names of the orders that were ready to go to get people out of the store. Seems like common sense to me, but again it’s all kids. They all looked stressed and the atmosphere behind the counter looked like pure chaos.
So after TEN MINUTES … the person at the front of the line finally got their missing order ( which by the way wasn’t missing, it was back there with the pile of to go orders just waiting) then I waited for about ten more minutes for two more customers to order. It was finally my turn. GREAT! oh wait a phone call came in so I had to wait another five minutes for them to take that to go order over the phone for my turn to order.
I ordered 3 bagel sandwiches. Pretty simple stuff bacon eggs cheese , sausage egg cheese, one California.
So we paid $38 for three sandwiches and two orange juices , after the five dollar coupon was applied, which seems way overpriced. But USUALLY the food is good so that’s why I accept the prices .
As we waited for approximately 30 minutes to get our food, no fewer than ten people who were also waiting were informed that something was wrong with their order , bagels not available, cream cheese not available etc.
Not one person of the at least ten people who were patiently waiting for their food forever like us, and then informed they weren’t going to get what they ordered and paid for were offered any sort of compensation other than a teenager saying “yeah, sorry” and they either had to choose something different or get their money back. One person did ask for money back and he was told they didn’t know how to do it AND THAT HE HAD TO WAIT IN LINE AGAIN TO GET HIS REFUND! I would have lost it , fortunately for that kid he was much calmer than me.
This place needs some organizing, the drive thru orders seem to take priority over the inside orders and that’s why people aren’t getting what they ordered inside. Because the drive thru order takers just sells them whatever without verifying how many of each kind of bagel they have left / haven’t been spoken for.
The quality of the food seems to have gone down quite a bit also. Today’s eggs tasted like pure rubber , obviously from liquid eggs and cooked in a microwave. My wife’s bagel was burnt, and there was ONE piece of bacon on my bacon egg and cheese.
There’s no leadership behind the counter, just kids wandering around looking hopelessly lost and stressed out. If they don’t figure something out they will go out of business soon enough which will be sad to see because we used to love this place.
For the owners…. 1-BE MORE PRESENT. 2-SERVE BETTER QUALITY FOOD IF YOU’RE GOING TO CHARGE SO MUCH. 3-GET A BETTER MANAGER. 4- ASSIGN SOMONE TO JUST HANDLE TO GO ORDERS , SEPARATE FROM THE PERSON AT THE REGISTER TAKING ORDERS. 5- REFILL THE COFFEE 6- FIGURE OUT THE COMMUNICATION BEHIND THE COUNTER SO YOU’RE NOT SELLING PEOPLE FOOD YOU DON’T HAVE.
I doubt I will be back, but maybe you can still save...
Read moreUpdate: went back a little over a year later since the kid was in town from college and wanted to stop. Yet again, I ordered a half dozen bagels and received nearly none of the type I asked for. No notice of substitutions made, no choice of an alternative, just a bag they pushed off as my order as paid for. I think 2 of them were supposed to be the cinnamon raisin bagels I ordered but neither had any raisins, just very slight cinnamon flavor; could have just been something else entirely though, either way, not what was ordered or paid for. My kid ordered an Elizabeth burrito. It was large but 95% of it was just a solid mass of microwaved egg and the smell was very off-putting. The kids behind the counter were all goofing around and the guy at the register couldn't seem to figure out how to enter any of what seemed like simple/typical order substitutions for the ladies in front of me ordering. It took over 5 mins for him to take those 2 ladies orders. That may not seem like long but amazing when the orders were so small. I had ordered online and everything was cold by the time it was my turn to pick up. If only even one of the kids in the back goofing around could be dedicated to online pickups, maybe things would be smoother. There was one young lady cleaning the dining area, restocking things behind the counter, and being very productive. It's too bad that work ethic didn't seem to run off on any of her coworkers. Done with this place for good.
Your order is really just a suggestion to them. My last few times alone I've received someone else's bagels but my spreads were all left out, had a whole order of cut sandwiches and bagels without a single one cut (fairly awkward office brunch when no one had a knife), and paid for cookies that were missing from the bags (circled on the receipt as if out of stock but not a word was said when I picked up and no refund for them). I gave this place the benefit of the doubt because they seemed busy when things were done wrong but in these last few times, they weren't busy at all. Definitely done paying for subpar service and missing...
Read moreI just had the most bizarre experience with Katie, who says she is the manager. It's my birthday. My teenage son and his girlfriend went to pick up the order we placed online for my birthday breakfast. The food was not ready when promised. When he arrived home, the order was missing the large cream cheese we ordered and paid for. I called and got Katie. I explained what happened and she immediately blamed my teenage son for not picking up the cream cheese from the cooler himself. I asked her how would he have known he was supposed to do that if nobody told him. She then said how was she supposed to know he had never been there before. I told her that her response was crazy to me. She was blaming a teenage kid instead of trying to remedy the problem for me. I just wanted my money back. I asked for a manager and she informed me she is the manager. I was completely shocked by her response and the way she immediately raised her voice. I have never been treated that way when I brought an issue forward to a restaurant that made a mistake. All I wanted was my money back. I ended up hanging because she wouldn't let me finish speaking. I called back and got someone else who said he would process my refund. Still no refund, as I write. Just a crazy experience!!
Edited to respond to Katie's response: I expected you to take responsibility for your part in our interaction. It's a shame you came here to do the exact opposite. I shouldn't be surprised based on some of your responses to others who dare say something negative about your business. Accountability goes a long way with customers. You clearly were not interested in solving my problem rather you were more interested in blaming the mistake on my son. Of course I became upset when you blamed MY CHILD rather than taking responsibility. YOU had the power to make that experience different. If you think my reaction was about cream cheese, you really need to do some self- reflection about how you treat customers. Sad way to run a business in...
