I have been looking for a great bakery ever since moving from Denver. It seems to be really difficult to find small bakeries like this one so when a friend recommended Posh Pastries I was excited to try them out. I ordered a cake for my daughters birthday 2 weeks in advance. When I stopped by to order and told them I needed a birthday cake, everyone behind the counter immediately looked annoyed/stressed until I explained it was for 2 weeks away. I didn't think too much of it, ordered my cake, and then they asked me to e-mail them a picture of what I liked when it got closer to the date. 4 days before, I e-mailed them the picture and made sure the clarify everything about my order. I received a very short, somewhat rude response asking if I had already placed my order. Understanding that they probably had a lot of orders, I wrote back and told them when I had ordered and that if there were any questions to please call me. I never got a response so assumed they were all set. The day of the birthday, I went to pick up my order and it took them more than 10 min. to find the cake and they acted like they had no clue what I was talking about when I described it to them. Finally, they found it, but when they open the box it wasn't finished! Even the woman helping me out seemed concerned. The owner came out and I explained to her that I had asked for my daughters name to be written on top and a #4 made out of chocolate. Neither was on there and she actually argued with me about what I had ordered and told me I never confirmed that in my e-mail. I could have easily pulled up the e-mail to show her what was written, but the whole thing seemed petty so I very nicely asked her if she could please add them. She rolled her eyes and went to finish it. When she came back it looked very rushed and the 4 looked terrible and flimsy. I was in a hurry so I paid and as I drove out of the parking lot the 4 broke in half. I didn't have time to go back and frankly didn't want to have to deal with her again so I went home. As I was attempting to fix the cake without the 4 on it, I noticed all of the fondant ribbon on the bottom was peeling off so had to fix that too. For an $85 cake that was ordered 2 weeks in advance, to say I was disappointed is an understatement. As a business owner myself, I cannot believe that someone would treat their customers this way and pass off something mediocre as acceptable. It's too bad because I was hoping to give them a lot more business but I'd rather drive 30 min to my old bakery in Denver than deal...

Instead of responding to either my mother or my review in a public forum, she sent my mother a private email basically explaining that she put very little effort into the cake on purpose because she knew my mom was upset. Her exact words were "its really hard to want to go above and beyond for a customer when you get off phone and said 'you are disappointed and will never use us again' before we can even attempt to make it better." -- This is her grammar, not mine -- It has completely gone over her head that we were upset about the way that SHE handled the situation from the beginning. Her "apology" meant nothing because she took absolutely ZERO responsibility for them losing our order, and instead again insinuated that my mother was lying, even though we literally sat down with them and ordered the cake in the store. Had she made a good looking cake, we still would never have used her again, but probably wouldn't have bothered leaving a review. Her response was immature and disappointing.
This business is incredibly unprofessional and a total scam. We came here to order a cake for my sister's baby shower, 3 weeks in advance. The day before the shower, my mom called the store to confirm the order and was told they did not have our order. They lost our order, and when my mom tried to explain the situation, they insinuated that she was lying about placing the order in the first place. Instead of making the situation right and rushing our original order, they offered us a pre-made cake, which they said they could decorate to our liking. Despite their mistake, they didn't offer to us an apology, much less a discount. My mom had to ask if there was anything they could do, and they only offered to take $10 off an almost $200 order. As if it couldn't get any worse, the cake we picked up the next day was sloppy and hideous. It looked like they threw it together in 10 minutes before we picked it up. The cake was supposed to be a red flannel pattern, which they messily created using sloppy paint strokes across the cake. On the cake toppers, you could see the white pencil they used to draw the design. The whole thing was so bad that it was almost comical. We could have made something better ourselves. Looking at the other 1 star reviews, it would appear that the owner couldn't care less about their shoddy work or customer...
Read morePoor customer service, dishonest staff and archaic booking process. When my fiancé drove from Falcon to Parker (1 hour drive) to pick up the cakes to taste, the staff member behind the counter seemed confused why he was even in. She sounded like the same woman who answers the phone only to be unhelpful. We never felt like valued customers, but as if we were bothering them. Posh Cakes wasted 2 months of my time and the money paid to taste the cakes (That is the furthest we got in the process) Trying to get in their books and pay a deposit, which I should mention is only taken through phone, was like pulling teeth. They kept telling me to call and speak with the owner so she could take my deposit. However, they don’t provide a time to do so, so this never happened. I emailed the owner who finally confirmed a time. I followed through and called on a Friday at 2:30 pm only to be told that the owner was not in. I emailed the owner and she informed me that staff thought I was a solicitor and that she was indeed in. Why are staff not trained to take deposits, or ask the right questions? I don’t know a solicitor that knows an owner’s name and willing to pay a deposit. Seeing that Posh Cakes has been in business for a decade +, this seems to be common feedback (Poor customer service, difficult process, etc.) why is feedback not taken seriously and why are solutions not implemented? Like other vendors, the process should be easy and streamlined. Please get with the times and provide customers a portal for payment, invoices, contracts and such. Unfortunately, being short staffed is no longer an excuse anyone wants to hear. Likely, Posh Cakes is busy because they are not working smart. There is a review I saw that broke my heart that Posh Cakes ruined a gender reveal because they simply did not take the gender sticker off and the mother to be saw it. While my situation was not that drastic, they also ruined a moment for my fiancé and I that I felt should have been exciting. The silver lining is that I continued my search for a wedding cake and found an amazing bakery who diligently helped me get booked WITHIN 48 HOURS. The process was painless. This speaks volumes about Posh Cakes. Folks, please read negative reviews, I would hate for this to happen to...
