I replaced the screen on my Samsung phone. I cracked it by sitting when it was in my back pocket. The phone was in pristine condition, no scratches, nicks, or damage anywhere. I figured I would upgrade it and replace the screen and give the phone to my wife, since she had an older phone. She was very happy to get the phone and said she loved it. So I took it to Gadget Medics in Boca and they replaced the screen. All was great for about 5 months. Then my wife shows me the screen with a pink line running through it vertically. So, I call the guy and no sooner than I described the issue, he says I dropped the phone. He even said this was common knowledge, and that the internet, has many articles where Samsung said this issue is due to damaged internal circuits that go to the screen because of dropping the phone. I tried to explain that this did not happen and he refused to even entertain the thought that it could be a defective replacement screen. He didn't even want to look at the phone untiI I got upset and then he told me to bring it in. I have no reason to believe that he will honor his warranty and do not feel like getting into shouting match with him. My wife insists she didn't drop the phone so I'm left with a $200 bill for a screen that has a pink line on it. BTW, I researched all websites he mentioned and found one that did say Samsung believes the pink line is due to damage to internal circuits and this is caused by dropping the phone. There are also a bunch of other sites that say this is BS and many people are complaining to Samsung that they never dropped the phone and still got the pink line, just like me. Regardless I would not recommend using their services since it seems, at least in my experience, that if something goes wrong they are more likely to blame you instead of their product. Or even take the time to look into the issue, unless of course you get upset and then they will tell you to come in so they can give you the bad news in person. Of course they will probably respond to this post saying the quality of our parts are great and look at all the positive feedback we have. While I appreciate this, it does not change the fact that my experience was poor and their lifetime warranty was not upheld and as I stated before I'm not interested in going back to the store to be told the same nonsense about how the phone was dropped. I'm simply trying to help any perspective clients be aware that they may not deliver the service that is promised. BUYER BEWARE!
Not surprising, you responded with 'it's not our fault, we use quality screens'. Your right, this review will fall off eventually but that does not change the fact that the way you handled this and continue to respond is very poor and in no way customer centric. And as I said in my review, I'm not coming back to your store, yes it is my decision. I'm not interested in getting into another shouting match. You did not and still do not want to entertain the thought that your part was defective. I recommended you do some research on the problem regarding Samsung's "pink line on screen" fiasco. I'm a reasonable person who asked you for help with the work you performed and you failed. No matter what you write here. You and I both know that. I wish you well in your business but I will not hesitate to tell everyone I know about my dissatisfaction...
Read moreWhat does old fashioned service mean? To me it is professional, efficient, affordable and personal. A friend told me to try Gadget Medics located at 20449 State Road 7, STE A-6 Boca Raton, FL 33498 because my (very) old iPod died and I wanted to get its contents saved to my Android phone. Well, I went expecting rejection and expecting to be told that there isnât anything that can be done. I was way more than pleasantly surprised when Vadim said I should leave the iPod and that when he called me I should return , with a Flash Drive. I bought a 32GB Flash Drive and an hour later he called. Vadim told me that my iPod was irreparable but he managed to get all of my songs, etc. loaded onto his PC. He inserted the Flash Drive, copied all of my songs, and told me how to put them onto my PC and how to load them onto my Android phone. Everything worked perfectly. Still does. Gadget Medics charged me an embarrassingly cheap price for saving years of accumulated music and memories. I can now recommend them wholeheartedly as a place to make your first stop for cell phone and computer repairs. Honesty, integrity and old fashioned service combined to make a frantic situation have a joyful conclusion. For those of you who will assume this is a solicited review you should know this: I do not know Vadim, I do not know Gadget Medics, I am anything but computer literate and my 70 years of life have taught me to recognize the real thing. This small...
