Buyer Beware, If you need electronics or an adventure to look, feel, touch, review these products this is a good store. Steer clear of the Geek Squad as it is overpriced and rated, poor service. Management is lazy and takes little time in resolving expensive mistakes and in my experience to the corporations enormous advantage. I shipped my new camera out for a cleaning, and it came back via UPS destroyed. I was without my camera for the entire summer as it had to be sent back four time. As it was only six months old and in perfect condition, they should have gone to no end to fix something I paid several thousands of dollars for, cared for and that they were responsible for its care. They don't carry carrier insurance, use third-party repair depots for items they can't convince you to throw out and buy new. If you don't want your computer fixed, and don't mind losing your data, they can wipe and replace your hard drive. I learned this as the couple next to me were so upset. In one interaction with a manager, he sat in a chair, put his feet up on display, folded his arms and presented an "I care" attitude. I asked for, called to speak with or meet the store manager several times, but apparently, he cares associates and more Geek Squad techs only met little as well as I. The techs need training that they are not just Geeks, but customer service. Without a customer there is no company. In my fourth attempt going to the store I may have been upset, sounded angry, but I bit my tongue. only to result in a snotty tech who stood and announced, "I'm not dealing with you, today has been enough." She then called someone who worked under her to assist me; I started explaining all over again. They never made good on the damage, even though I paid for the support. I was an Elite Member, spending over 3,500.00 a year. I held this membership status over four years. Wouldn't one think corporate would call and find out why I stopped buying anything from them again? It's not hard running a report for those who have walked away from this store, no longer purchased from them online, and no longer frequented any of their area stores again. The exception, to see what things looked like in hand, to return home and order all of my IT business needs and L-Series lens and body upgrades from anyone but from this "Buy'ers Remorse" without the best anything. Shame on you! I entertained a friend from out of the country, who wanted to purchase just a few hundred dollars. We were looking at the San Disk solid state drives. They didn't have the size we were looking for, so I made a mistake and hunted for anyone to help me. I found someone, who paged someone that was familiar with the area. It turns out he was a rep from Lenovo, I fully understand. It took a full 15 minutes for someone to respond, only to admit he had no clue of the products in his department. He was even confused when I asked if there were any other USB 3.1 (2nd Gen) drives or peripherals, not only did he not know what I was talking about, but walked off after saying he didn't know. He didn't bother asking anyone else. We walked out and ordered what he needed from my Amazon Prime account.
The only other brick and motors I despise more are Walmart, and the defunct Circut City and CompUSA. They need to take a look at the after mentioned as it is one of the reasons they are the only one left. I ended up sending it to Canon and paid to have it fixed correctly. I am confident that B & H in New York would have done an excellent job in helping me, I won't make this mistake again.
I rated two stars, because honestly most people who give one star, do so out of anger and I do go to this best buy to browse and the store is clean...
Read morePlease excuse any typos, as I'm using Google's voice to text technology. This was the first time I went to this Best Buy, as I recently relocated to the Boca Raton area. The store had average number of people inside of it, everyone was using universal precautions, social distancing was in effect, everyone inside the store was wearing a mask. As you know, everything is Homebase now, at least it will be in the future, so I went to go pick up a new computer thanks to the grace of God, the one and only true Living God, the god of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to allow me to start working and supplementing my income. As I was looking around for a computer's that met the requirements that the company needed, initially there was no one there to help me. So I went up to the cashier and I asked if someone could please come and assist me. She went on her little radio system and within 2 minutes, a very knowledgeable person came up and help me. He was very professional, a younger gentleman, he told me he was furloughed a few weeks back, but today was his first day back. What an asset that young man is to Best Buy. He made sure the check that the computer was in stock, not only from his inventory computer screen, but he actually went into the warehouse to make sure it was in stock. And luckily that was the last one. I was a levono all-in-one. A very nice computer. And then I left the store, show them I'm a receipt, and I was on my way. Very happy with the customer service here at the store. Parking was ample, everyone was friendly, but they did seem to be low on stock and computers. But given the reality of what's going on in this world today, this is going to be the norm, and it will only get worse. So concentrate on your eternal future. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. If you have a Bible at home, or if you don't, simply download it Square app store, then read the book of John. Which is the Gospel of John. If that does something to you, then keep following your heart. God bless you all. We must all repent from our sins, how to accept Jesus Christ as our savior with our heart, not only with our minds. May the love of God our Father, the Peace of our LORD Jesus Christ, The Fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with everyone that reads this. Amen. Hallelujah to the...
Read morePurchased an 85” Sony that came damaged. The installation guys said they would contact the store and order the replacement. Days later after hearing nothing I decided to visited the store ( as no one never answers the phone) upon which they informed me that they had in fact no record of the issue in their files. I was there another 90 minutes trying to help them sort out my purchase details. Upon leaving the store a new date for installation was finally set. When that day arrived I received a call confirming the installation appointment for my NJ address ? I explained that the tv was for FL he instructed me to contact Geek Squad. That call took 49 minutes and at last a new date for the installation was established. That day cane and went, as they never showed up. So as before, I called Geek Squad asking for an explanation and the response was perhaps that specific model was not in stock. When I asked why then was the appointment confirmed, he had no meaningful response. Yet again another date was set for the install and removal of the original damaged tv. When that day finally came the installers refused to rehang the original sound bar without paying them an additional $95.00, or removing back to Best Buy the damaged television. Mind you this box is huge weighing approximately 200 lbs. Moreover, they were unprofessional in there manner and keep talking behind my back whenever I wouldn’t tolerate there refusal to at least instruct me in how to hook up the sound bar before they set the tv onto the wall. So they told me to contact who other but the idiots at Geek Squad. The first person I spoke to hung up on me after I explained the entire situation and the second person I spoke said I would need to set up another appointment to take the damaged tv back and re hang the sound bar at my expense. They did reluctantly take back the damage tv.
The Store in Boca Raton is terribly run by an indifferent manager! There is no accountability. The Geek Squad is no better!
My experience with them has...
