Three weeks since the opening of the West Boca location. Overall very high food quality and very attentive service. Minor nitpicks:
Be very explicit about the sweetness level of the bobas when you order. Rachel wanted 25 percent (you can specify 4 levels) but came out 100 percent. They remade it, was fine. It probably won’t happen again as we let the owner know to train the staff accordingly with the POS.
The “lobster” gyozas on the current menu are mixed shrimp and lobster and heavily ground-up fillings, at which point they resembled a fish paste that you might see in commercial shumai. They aren’t specified that way on the menu — I suspect, after telling the owner that it will be changed (or at least the description will). Rachel and I didn’t like them very much; we had them replaced with traditional pork, which is very good. All of their dumplings are made fresh in-house; I’m inclined to try the chicken and the beef next time.
Crispy cauliflower appetizer isn’t as crispy as I would like (it would probably benefit from being smaller pieces), but I love the gochujang sauce. I‘m sure it’s excellent on the wings. Rachel liked this one more than I did.
That said, it’s a fun place with a great Japanese Anime/Manga-themed atmosphere. Server Jack was very professional/amicable and service-oriented, and I’m sure we were his nightmare table that evening.
They make their own ramen noodles with a pasta machine out of their east Boca location; they are skinny wheat noodles (no egg). The core product is good, and it’s a fun place, but I’d cut them some slack. The 12-hour Tonkotsu Ramen broth I had was exceptional; it has two nice slices of Chashu pork and two pork gyoza...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of treating my brothers to lunch and this was this spot. Our taste buds were in for a treat as we decided to venture away from the usual ramen and instead indulged in the restaurant's handmade pork gyoza, which was nothing short of heavenly.
But that wasn't the only highlight of our meal. The KFC wings were a true game-changer - crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and perfectly complemented by their housemade spicy Gochujang sauce. I couldn't resist ordering two servings!
We also took the opportunity to sample the Boa Bun platter combo, which featured succulent chicken karaggae and melt-in-your-mouth chashu pork belly. To top it off, I had the pleasure of savoring the Korean Style Bulgogi, which was served over a bed of perfectly cooked Japanese rice. Initially, too dry for me, after adding a little sauce it was great.
And let's not forget about the handcrafted boba tea counter - the snow bunny boba is beautifully curated with floral petals all around. We indulged in their refreshing boba - consistently good. To end our meal on a sweet note, my brothers tried the Japanese fluffy cheesecake, it was a mixed review, one loved it and the other didn't for me it was okay. The restaurant itself boasts a charming ambiance, complete with a cool animated theme that runs throughout.
Make sure to check out their Bingo nights on Tuesdays and their Happy Hour deals from 3-7 pm and 10 pm to close. Trust me - you won't be disappointed!

Read moreI’ve been a customer of ramen lab for literally years. From Boca Mizner location, to delray location, to now this new location on 441. I’ve loved ramen lab for so long and have come here consistently. These past couple months, i noticed this changing slowly. New menu items this and that. That’s great! But here’s the issue, you shouldn’t fix what isn’t broken. I’ve gotten take out a couple times these past few months. First thing i noticed, the boba teas. The whole menu changed and im assuming they merged with another company. Their boba before was the best in boca, literally my go to. Now? I’ve tried 3 different times and all 3 times their boba is sooooooo bad. Like taste like tap water. No flavor whatsoever and the popping boba balls got smaller, and more artificial tasting. Now to the food. The flavor is always great i haven’t had an issue yet, but who knows with all the changes. The problem is they upped the price and cut the portions significantly! I got my bowls today for takeout as i usually do and everyone looked at me like i was crazy and ordered it wrong when i got home when in fact, i did not. I fear that maybe someone bought out the company or something but whatever changes are being made is going to hurt the customers significantly who have been coming for a long time. Like i said, sometimes change is good. But don’t fix what isn’t broken. Unfortunately i will not be returning for a while. Hopefully...
