For those of you who may not know, HomeSense is one of the children of The TJX Companies, along with siblings HomeGoods, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, and several other subsidiaries. While very familiar and a humongous fan of the other stores, Iād never been to a HomeSense, probably because there isnāt one located very near to my stomping ground (closest is East Hanover)...that all changed a few days ago when they opened the doors to a shiny brand new HomeSense super close to me, HOORAY!!! I popped over on my lunch break to check out the new store digs and because I REALLY need some table lamps!!!! Ohhhhh if youāre a fan of any of the subsidiary stores youāre going to fall in love at first sight here baby cakes!! I know itās still brand new, so itās clean and looks organized, etc., but my first impression is WOW!! I was like a kid in a candy shoppe!! What a beautiful, bright, incredible store with essentially all you would need to make your home look lovely and to get inspired!! Being a highly visual person, I was overwhelmed in the most wonderfully creative way here, ha! DISCLAIMER: Upon entering, you WILL get distracted by all of the cool stuff, you WILL want to buy more than you can afford (so be wise and DONāT lol), and you WILL WANT TO COME BACK!! I learned that they offer same day shipping for certain items too. They also have customer service call buttons in the store if you have a question about something. The seasonal section is great and I spotted some adorable, festive finds!! Wanna cook or bake??? Head to the kitchenware section....need some art to spice up your wall life....the art pieces here are gorgeous. Need lighting fixtures or lamps (yes, I said to myself)....this place has you covered like S.W.A.T. What the heck are you waiting for?!...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely horrible customer service experience at this HomeSense location. I went in to return an item without a receipt (as I genuinely didnāt have one) and had paid using Apple Pay which, as most people know, still links back to the original card. However, the cashier Francise rudely told me that the store ācanāt look it upā because the number changes monthly. Thatās fine ā but her tone and attitude were anything but.
She treated us like we are dumb and donāt know how returns work, making us feel belittled. Completely ununacceptable.
Then the manager, Karen, came over and said, āWe donāt take summer item returns at this store.ā This is the first time Iāve ever heard of that (Its still August) and Iāve returned seasonal items before without an issue. Just a flat-out refusal, delivered with attitude.
Iāve never experienced such blatant rudeness at a retail store. There was zero effort to help or offer an alternative. It felt like they were just waiting for a reason to say no and shame the customer in the process.
Iām extremely disappointed and would gladly speak to someone from corporate about this. If this is how loyal customers are treated, then HomeSense needs to seriously retrain their staff on customer service and basic courtesy. NEVER...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe store is a very large store with a great variety of objects. You can decorate your whole house with the items sold here such as picture frames and rugs chairs knick knacks, tchotchkes, clocks, mirrors and many holiday decorations! apartment Ranger greeting to a wide-open area, however in some of the Isles with little decorations and nicknamed you may have to squeeze by somebody if they're looking at something. That is not such a bad thing as those aisles are very short and you can just go around them and see what's in the next aisle on your way to the other side.
The restrooms are located on the back wall on the right side. the registers are located against the right wall and they had plenty of registers open when we went there on one of their first days.
Knowing the parent company that owns HomeSense,as well as several other stores, I can imagine that they will be showcasing many items and the coming weeks on the sidewalk in front...
