Wish I could rate zero stars. I was sold a pallet of 380 used cedar pickets (nail holes, foot prints, etc.). I initially salvaged 80 pickets (20%) and sent the rest back. Well I say sent, I of course had to spend my time and gas to return the bad pickets. I had tried calling the manager to claim that I thought it would be right when a customer spends $2000 on materials and almost half of it in cost is bad that the store should deliver good material and pick up the poor material. I guess that was too much to ask but in the end I figured oh well, I'll just have to get over it. So I returned the pickets and the customer service rep seemed stunned that I had to return that many pickets. I recognized the manager due to their name tag behind the sales rep who I had previously spoken with twice that day on the phone about the situation and they looked at me and walked off. Anyways, so I go and "I" unload all 300 pickets out of my truck, I go handpick 300 pickets so that I could ensure that I could finish the job ASAP, and then "I" load all of the pickets back into my truck by hand. At this point I wasn't happy in the slightest and had decided that officially all of my business would be going to Lowe's and if there was anything Lowe's didnt have that I needed then I would find it elsewhere. Once I arrived home I realized that the original 80 pickets I had kept were sub par compared to the 300 I had just grabbed so I went through those and decided that I should take 55 of those back. I just tried to do so but failed. I get there and figured I would go ahead and pick out the 55 pickets i wanted and then complete the exchange. I go through what I know is a bad rack of pickets and ask an employee if I could get a fresh pallet. They laughed "you have to go through what's there before I can do that." I replied "I'm sorry I was just looking through them for the past 5 minutes and only found 5 that weren't broken. I need 55." Being that there were only about 55 there to begin with I thought that would hand an effect but it didn't. I go ask another employee and they gladly say, "yes sir, let me drop this pallet of concrete and I'll go get a fresh pallet." I thought "great, I'll get out of here in 15-20 minutes and get home to put these up before dark." I sat there for over an hour! The forklift went outside, I watched the employees hangout while the one I had just talked to unloaded the concrete as fast as they could. Once that was unloaded I heard the garage door open for the forklift to come back in, it shut and then no one was to be found. I saw three other customers sitting down on their carts waiting for help. I decided to go to the front to complete my return while I waited on the pallet to be brought out. Those lines were so backed up I left. In total I spent 3 hours for nothing. I am now sitting in my driveway at home typing this with the bad pickets still in the bed of my truck. I leave to go out of town this week and the fence is still not completed. If the fence is not finished then I'll have to board my dogs which will be money out of my pocket. This is outright ridiculous and if or whenthis transaction is completed I will never step foot back in Home Depot.
Sorry I almost forgot. I needed a few more materials during the job so I went to Lowe's. I got the lumber I needed there but decided to get the concrete at Home Depot since I already knew the consistency of that brand. I grabbed 21 bags of concrete. An employee was 2 bays down and was seated down playing on their phone while I loaded all 21 bags on a cart, and then I loaded all 21 bags in my truck. I bought just a small amount of lumber at Lowe's and the cashier asked me multiple times if I wanted help loading it in my truck. Clearly better service at Lowe's. I really didn't mind loading the concrete but it's the principle of the matter.
*Update. After multiple calls to their customer service line, I still have yet to hear anything back now almost 2 months later. I have spoken to numerous people and left messages with promises I will get a call back,...
Read moreLike most people reviews are save for the great service or poor customer service. Unfortunately, Home Depot disappointed yet another customer. The disappointment occurred all the way to the general manager Glenda. Just recently I purchased two locks sets Kwikset locks. One Kwikset was $149 and the other $89. The locks were purchased at a different Home Depot location because it was where I was at the time. However at the time of purchase I was instructed that any Home Depot would be able to set the locks (key the locks for the same key). I have spent the last month and a half trying to get my locks keyed at the location near me (Pasadena location) each time (5 different times to be exact) I was told no one was available to key my locks, after I was given a time to arrive when there would be someone available and trained to set the locks for me. Yesterday (6/23/2020) I was told to come back tomorrow (6/24/202) because they (Home Depot - Pasadena Location) only has one person in the entire store who can key and set same key locks. I explained to one of the cashiers how long I have been trying to get theses locks keyed and I specially asked "can I please get the time the person is on schedule so I can stop chasing around to get the keys set) After waiting 15 minutes and asking five times, the cashier comes back with the name and time the one person would be available. Today (6/24/2020), I arrived 30 minutes into the shift (wanted to give a few minutes to get on duty) Debra (only person trained to key set locks in the entire store) told me that they (Home Depot) does not set locks. However, I wanted the locks, I purchased from them (Home Depot), I would be charged $5 per cylinder. I told Debra well that is contradicting what she just told me. She suggested that I go to another place (Red's Hardware) and pay them. I explained how I was completely dumbfounded because each time no one explained to me that Home Depot charges for key sets that are purchased in their store. Then I explained the situation and mentioned If I would have known this, I would have went to their competitor who does not charge. I walked out and drove across the street to Lowes and explained the situation that just happened at Home Depot and Lowes were generous enough to same key my locks without charging me. I will not walk into Home...
Read moreLeroy had another employee call me back to say "to bad" no compensation nor will they even move this to the backyard. What a piece of garbage representing this store!!!! 1 yr later, gave them another chance. Bought an outdoor shed in the store at the service desk, paid for delivery ( not a good experience at the service desk) they still say we ordered it online which caused all the problems. Took off work Friday because "someone 18 or older had to sign for it". They texted at 1pm to say they rescheduled but no date. Over an hour of calls, said they didn't know they would need a different kind of truck and it would deliver Saturday. Again someone had to be home to sign for it. I got up at 7am Saturday & there was over $1000 of lumber(shed) on my front lawn. Noone came near my door (I have cameras), no signature. Paperwork on pallet said "carrier must call consignee for delivery" yea right! I called Leroy the manager said "not his dept & someone would call by 11am". Haha!!! I called again at 11:30. Basically a lady said "oops, we shouldn't have done that". Supposedly they will call back but not holding my breath. Pasadena location is by far the worst home depot in Texas. BEWARE if you're thinking of placing an order for delivery. Now I've pd additional $ for contractor Friday with no delivery and will pay extra for them to haul all of this to the backyard.
No customer service for about the 10th time in the last 3 months. We're remodeling our home and will from now on make a further drive to somewhere with customer service. 3 different areas of the store today 2 or more employees enjoying their social hour while ignoring customers that were...
