Villa Sorriso — Local services in Pasadena

We were so pleasantly surprised by our experience here! We found Sorriso randomly by driving past around 8 PM on a Thursday night. It was empty except for us and one other group, but was quite large inside. The decoration was a little maximalist--my dining partner and I joked we felt like we were in Miami or on a movie set--but I could see it being great vibes with a larger crowd and a band or DJ.

The food itself was delicious and fairly priced. There are 2 or 3 restaurants operating here--Sorriso, a tapas place, and Hawg Heaven (BBQ). I got the braised short ribs with smashed potatoes and chorizo brussels. My partner got a half rack of ribs with macaroni and collard greens. His ribs were huge and fall-off-the-bone tender with beautiful presentation. My short ribs were fork tender and mouthwatering. The empanadas we got as an appetizers were drizzled in the tastiest cilantro lime crema. The also gave us complimentary garlic knots right out of the oven which were addicting. Huge portions, enough to bring home leftovers.

Two beers, two soft drinks, an app, and two entrees came to $80-something. Unthinkable for most places in the area.

This was suppose to be a nice experience I thought. Until it was time to go and as the last 5 ladies of the 15 left to include myself, the lady singer Leila, said on the mic. " Now that the drive by audience is gone". 😯 I did report immediately to the manager Rogelio who looked just as shocked, but could only apologize for said behavior from lead vocalist of the band Leila. 🤬 But nothing was done to address the racial profiled derogatory statement that was blasted over the mic. This is defimation of character and public humiliation. I did ask for a public apology to the manager via the vocalist on the mic. I wanted the apology to be as loud as the disrespect. Our table, the 1 I was seated at was also neglected by the waitering staff too during this experience. The food was not good at All. I chose not to call it nasty being polite. I did express all of this to the manager, who said it will be better next time. THERE WILL BE NO NEXT TIME. OLE WISE TALE. 1ST TIME SHAME ON YA'LL 2ND SHAME...

Bad. A very kind waitress. But really terrible service otherwise. The steak was sold as “reduction wine steak” it was just drenched in A1 sauce. Frozen or definitely not fresh steak. The bus boy wanted us all to wait to eat our food before he’d hand it to us while it was sitting there next to us getting cold until the waitress would come to confirm it. Seems like theres no training. No customer service. The soup tasted like it was from a powdered soup. The tiramisu and cake tasted like chemicals terrible. Needs better management.
