Where should I start. Purchased a ford F150 lariat on the 15th of February. Was told it would be cleaned and detailed before we left that evening and a full tank of gas ( the tank was not Ollieâs it was only a 1/2 tank, red flag number 1( lol) . We left pretty late and it was dark and when we looked at everything in the morning light the inside was still not detailed at all! It was very dirty. On the way home we lived 2 hrs away we found out that one of the key fobs didnât work and that the Corwin connect that we paid 400.00 for was not working. Contacted our sales person and he got us an appointment for me to bring truck down and get keys fixed along with everything else. Following Monday I went down to get everything fixed and truck detailed only to find out that the only thing the sales agent did was set up to have my key fob fixed and reprogrammed. Being upset the service manger over heard me and tried to get everything else done so I sat in the service department for 8 hours! They were about to close and there was a huge rain storm happening so I just went to head home, When I left that night Corwin connect was not working because they said my battery was not charging it but if I drove home it should charge it. By this time I wanted to just go home. Following morning looked at everything inside and once again not cleaned. ThenâŚ. The check engine light came onâŚ. Following day their service department called and wanted to confirm that we had purchased the ford truck. I confirmed only for them to tell me that the sales agent took the keys and truck from the service department and was scheduled to have a new engine placed in it. ( are you shaking your head yet thinking this canât be true? I sure was) so after talking to Journey who was as upset as I was we got things worked out to have them bring me a rental vehicle which was a small eco sport and they would take my truck and have it back to me by the following Thursday because we were leaving Friday morning on a vacationâŚ. Fast forward to Wednesday Journey calls me to let me know that everything is taken apart and ready for the new engine but the new engine was missing and it is back ordered for 2-3 months but thinks she might of found one in Montana. Okay so where does that leave me because the eco sport will not work for our vacation as itâs to small ( can barely get two car seats in the back seat) sooooo once again they send down a ford ranger truck for us to use and keep til my F150 was done. During this time my husband has called the sales manager and filled him in everything that was going on and he was as shocked as we were. He told my husband he would personally make sure that our truck was cleaned inside and out and if he found anything that was missed he would have them re detail it etc. Now fast forward to March 19th which is over a month of us buying the truck and have only driven it for maybe 4 days, it comes back home and dropped off with a newer engine installed. I should have looked everything over before accepting it, but I was seriously over everything with Corwin ford. Went to take kids to school the following day and still it has not been detailed and if it has been then let me say their detail ppl need to be retrained!
Now journey in the service department has been amazing and wonderful to work with. She kept us in the loop of things and updated us all the time. The sales ppl would not recommend and the sales manager really dropped the ball. Would not recommend buying a vehicle from Corwin ford in tri cities after this experience.    Read moreUnfortunately my experience with salesman Candido Martinez at Corwin Ford was one that I would not recommend for anyone else.
He is smooth talker and talks in circles in order to get you at his desk to buy a car.
Which I did, however I came prepared with doing my homework on the car before I got there. I knew that Kelly Blue Book retail was close to $9k and they were asking $11,7k for it. I stood firm to what I would pay for the car as I knew itâs fair value & would not pay more than it was worth.
Mr. Martinez would not sit at the desk with me while waiting for word from his sales managers, he even brought his sales manager over to speak to me. Again I stood firm on what I would pay & they did not have to sell me the car.
I liked the car enough that I waited it out while Mr. Martinez was no where to be found.
Prior to all of that he said he would fill up the car, which he did not. He said that if there were any problems with car in the first 30 days that Corwin Ford takes complete care of that. That is NOT true! Per the sales manager, if anything was to happen mechanically that they would consider helping out depending upon what the situation is.
He stated that Corwin Ford does a complete inspection of the cars they sell & if the tires are less than 80% tread they put new tires on. That is not true as less than 48 hours of buying the car I was stranded on my way home in Airway Heights as I live in Montana, with a front tire with a side wall that was damaged and unsafe to drive. Which would explain the vibrations I was having and I am thankful I was able to safely make it to Les Schwab to get a new tire. The rear tires tread are at 50% so his statement above is false!
I reached out to Mr. Martinez and after 1 hour of him reading my text and seeing the photo & him not responding, I called the dealership. Unfortunately I have never heard from Mr. Martinez and I would never recommend buying a car from Mr. Martinez.
Maybe if I would have overpaid for my car he would have been professional at the time of purchase.
It does not excuse him not being honest, not reaching out when I was in Airway Heights to ensure my safety.
The dealership did pay for the tire only after they needed me to sign documents they forgot to have me sign so they did not have to pay the sales tax since I live in Montana. That took a lot of effort on my part of calling, leaving VMâs which was told they did not get, etc! But in the end the dealership took care of it! Thank you!
If you choose to buy from Corwin Ford, ensure you do your homework before you buy, check your tires for safety. I would recommend NOT buying a car from Mr. Martinez as he will shake your hand, tell you to reach out if you need anything and then never respond when you reach out with a safety problem.
I love my car, I did not over pay & that is...
Read moreFirst of all, I would like to thank my salesman Calee and the Sales manager Stephen for the experience they gave me. Unfortunately, my experience, other than the two mentioned above, was overall pretty underwhelming and I would probably not recommend this establishment. I purchased a 2006 Honda CRV from them. I really love the car, but they definitely tried to pull the wool over my eyes on a few things. I understand that a sales department needs to make money, but I mentioned to them that the tires were lightly dry rotted on the inside around the rim and in the treads. I also noted that the pictures showed a check engine light, but was told there are no issues. I live 5 1/2 hours fron tri-cities, in Montana, and upon arrival, I was told that I need two documents that prove I am from Montana. Well, all I brought was my ID since I haven't bought out of state before. Long story short, I had a very poor experience with Fabian "explaining" that it is just business and if I don't like it, too bad. I did not appreciate that experience, nor being talked down to. Once Fabian left, the experience got a little bit better and I was introduced to Daniel, a manager. He told me that the tires are not an issue and I will make the 5 1/2 hour drive with no problems. Well, I ended up just buying the car since I really loved the car, not the experience. I do not regret my purchase, but the next day while driving home, I didn't even make it outside Pasco city limits and the check engine light came on. Pulled over and scanned the car to find a Knock sensor fault. I just decided to keep driving and hope to make it home. During each stop, which would have been every hour or two, I kept noticing one of the tires to be low. Turns out that the dry rotting I pointed out WAS an issue. Talk about the most scary experience of my life. Driving through the high desert in between the middle of nowhere and nothing. Anyways, we limped it back home and ended up not running into any other issues. The dealer made contact with me last week about my purchase, just checking in and I let them know about it all. I am still waiting to hear back, but again, I am just disappointed that they attempted to pull the wool over my eyes. Again, I love the car, but I did not love the experience. I knew on a 20 year old car it would need some work like brakes and maybe a tune up, but I never expected to spend more at a dealer for piece of mind to have to turn around and spend over 1,500 dollars. Very...
