I have waited a week to post this to make sure I wasn't over reacting. About a month ago my fiancé and I took our mothers' rings to Crown Jewelers to get my wedding band made from the two rings. They were very helpful and told us it would be no problem. We discussed the design I wanted and agreed on a price. We were informed that there would be gold left over from his mother's ring, so we decided to have his made as well from the left over gold. We took more gold pieces to add so there would be enough for his ring and to cover the cost of labor. We were told it would take about a week and a half. Great. A week and a half later we called them. Rings weren't ready. We were told the man making them had been sick and he would start on the rings that weekend...rings would be ready on Wednesday. Wedding was on Friday. So...on Wednesday we called....they hadnt started on either of them!! This time we were told their laser machine had broken down and they were waiting on a part. The part had come in and they would have them ready. Fast forward to Friday...my wedding band wasn't remotely what we had discussed it would look like and it didn't even have his mother's gold in it! They charged us an additional $180 for "extra gold" they had to add to his ring. This was not communicated BEFORE they started making the rings. The original quotes were $100 to make mine and $175 for his. We took them $340 worth of gold...enough to have credit for the possibility of gold. Original quote $275...actual cost $520...and it wasn't even what we wanted. To make matters worse...my ring didn't fit against my engagement ring and to "fix" it they removed two small diamonds. Did they give me those back? No! They had told me to add extra would be $60 each...so they basically got another $120 from those.
I have never felt so ripped off in my life. What was supposed to be sentimental, meaningful wedding bands has been a nightmare and not at all what we expected. Take your business elsewhere. They didn't even attempt to make it right. I wouldn't trust...
Read moreWonderful experience! I wanted to remake a ring. I went to another jewelry store first. They told me that what I wanted could not be done and if it were done it would be an ugly piece of jewelry. The ring was a very sentimental piece and I was crushed by that jewelers arrogance and rudeness. I saw the reviews and decided to call Crown Jewelers. Aaron was so humble and encouraging over the phone so I went to the store for an in person consultation. He told me that not only could they do what I wanted, but it would turn out beautifully. I LOVE the end result. It was exactly what I had in mind and turned out even more lovely than we imagined. They are more than competitive price wise than the other store and the quality of Crown Jeweler's work is excellent. ...
