We came home today to a sweltering house. It was 5:30 in the afternoon on a Saturday. My husband figured out that he needed a start capacitor but where to get one on a Saturday evening. We looked for AC parts stores and happened upon Hallandale AC parts depot. They had good reviews so we made a call and we’re fortunate to talk to the owner Eric. He told us that he was closing in about 30 minutes but if he knew we were on our way he would wait for us. We jumped in the car. He helped us find the correct part and we went home to install it.
Once we opened the unit It was difficult to see the old one and because it is something that carries a charge we were a little concerned about doing it ourselves. My husband called Eric to see if he would make a call to the house to replace it and he told us I will walk you through it it’s not difficult. Eric was good to his word. He took the time after hours to explain to my husband how to do this safely and now we are sitting in a lovely cool home. I would definitely...
Read moreThis is the second time the fine folks at Hallandale A/C Parts Depot have saved me. This time I needed some limit switches. They had them in stock at a very good price. I didn’t have to go online and wait. They even beat the Amazon prices. . Last time my AC broke it was on Saturday late in the afternoon and I was getting hot. I called multiple other AC parts places and they were all closed. I saw this place on Google maps and called them. The owner picked up the phone and told me to go to the store and meet him in 20 minutes. He came in opened up and had the motor controller that I needed brand new in the box ready to go at a great price. We took it home my friend installed it and the AC motor controller has been working great. Thank you so much this place is a hidden little secret that more people should know about. Even my friend who used to be full time in the AC business said this is a very good place with a...
Read moreGo somewhere else if you can. This store is not for you. Prices even for techs are thru the roof !!!! The owner sold me on a condenser fan unit "made in Mexico" that according to him are better and I bought it, skepticaly, becasue that was his best choise. I got back to the jobsite and it was a disaster. The new fan sounded like an old broken one and didn't even reach the 1075 rpm it was made for. Yes, I checked voltage and capacitance of the new capacitor I got from him, then re-check my work to make sure nothing was done wrong and everything checked out except for the fan motor. Let me tell you something Mr. Owner, the ones made in China are much better just because they have years of experience making them and they work right at least the first...
